Psalm 67 The Way of Blessing

I. The Source of Blessing - 1 God be merciful unto us, and bless us;

and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah.

The Gift of Blessing - 1 God

The Grounds of Blessing - be merciful unto us,

The Grace of Blessing - and bless us;

The Glory of Blessing - and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah.

2. The Sense of Blessing - 2 That thy way may be known upon earth,

thy saving health among all nations.

Our Help - "Bless us"

Our Happiness - Cause his face to shine upon us

Our Holiness - 2 That thy way may be known upon earth,

Our Health - 2 thy saving health among all nations.

"Saving health" speaks of spiritual health - the Gospel blessing of salvation

3. The Scene of Blessing -

The Remonstration -

3 Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.

The Recognition - 4 O let the nations be glad and sing for joy:

The Reparation - for thou shalt judge the people righteously,

The Restoration - and govern the nations upon earth. Selah.

The Repetition - 5 Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.

4. The Sign of Blessing -

6 Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us.

The Productivity - 6 Then shall the earth yield her increase;

The Prosperity - and God, even our own God, shall bless us.

The Piety - 7 God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him
