Contributed by Shane Pierce on Oct 23, 2017 (message contributor)
Summary: It is important as a church to have a vision for God to move and work. In this message those visions are pointed out to steer the church into the right direction. It is a personal choice for each individual believer to have a vision.

The vision of the church
• Scripture- Proverbs 29:18 (KJV) Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
• Those of us that are saved belong to the body of Christ.
• We are to work together with one accord, in love, and unity.
• 1 Corinthians 12:12-14 (KJV) For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many.
• We are told about the hands, the feet, the mouth & how we all have a job.
• In order for us to be a church on fire for God everyone has to do their jobs.
• To do that we must have the same vision.
• Not what we determine is God’s will
• Not what we think is a good idea.
• A vision to be faithful in carrying out God’s will in the church.
• Why a vision?
• Vision refers to The prophetic word of the Lord. ( Preaching )
• 1 Corinthians 1:18 (KJV) For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
• Law refers to God’s word. God’s word is inspired & profitable.
• It is important for a church to have a vision.
• Vision to come to church
• Hard to be on fire for God if you forsake the assembly of believers.
• Yes, you should be faithful in coming to church.
• It’s a command from the Lord.
• 1 Timothy 3:15 (KJV) But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
• God instituted the church, he gave himself for it.
• Vision of who Christ is
• People today lack the knowledge of who God is.
• Brain washed by the world, blinded by Satan.
• They picture him as another bible character.
• Christ is saviour, head of the church, God himself.
• John 1:1 (KJV) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
• Standing on the Word of God
• To do what the Bible says.
• 2 Timothy 3:16 (KJV) All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
• We have the blessed Word of God.
• We are to preach it, teach it, and live by it.
• Churches have not the Word only the world.
• They are people pleasers, wanting to be popular.
• 1 John 2:15-16 (KJV) Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
• I love souls, & hope they get saved & start going to church.
• I will not compromise.
• Vision of prayer
• We need to give a heed to our pray life
• Pray earnestly for the lost, sick, church, each other, & our nation.
• Jeremiah 33:3 (KJV) Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
• Prayer is our only way to talk to God.
• Enter into your prayer closet & shut the door.
• Vision of witnessing
• The gospel is only good news if it gets there in time.
• If you’re church is founded on the Word of God. Has a true vision of who Christ is. If your church’s a praying church, and you’re there to be fed the word and to grow, you’ll want to witness.
• Go ye therefore & teach all nations baptizing them in the name…
• Matthew 5:16 (KJV) Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
• A church that has no glow, has no grow.
• Testimony, the greatest tool.
• Vision of growth
• To have that desire.
• Reading, praying, studying.
• To desire that fellowship, close walk. (Enoch)
• It’s not coming over night
• Always be a student of God’s Word.
