The True Essential Of Life

And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her. (Luke 10:41-42)

Our lives are being stripped to the bare minimum and most essential-GOD-not stuffs, wealth, power, fame, prominence, titles, and positions. Everyone, including presidents and prime ministers are being quarantined.

The unshakable essential. That says it all. God is shaking the earth so that we will figure out what matters most and who is truly in charge and calling the shots. Here is the good news. Out of these shaky days will come a vast spiritual harvest. People are asking questions because they want to know who they can trust. What wonderful doors for ministries are being opened to us! We may not be able to gather like we did before, but there are far greater opportunities for ministry than ever. People`s heart are ready to receive the answer-the gospel of Jesus Christ. Thank God for the many electronic communication media available to us. You can still minister on a one to one basis while observing the one meter social distance separation restriction. Be alert, the opportunities we have been waiting for to share the gospel have come.

In mathematics “50/100” is describes as improper fraction. If you present this answer to your mathematics instructor, you will not receive the full marks. The most accurate answer will be 1/2, which is a proper fraction and most minimum result. Over the years, our lives have been clutter with so many things(distractions)- things we believe we could not do without. Most of us are currently living without active jobs, without getting to our offices, without going to classes, very limited cash, without preaching and teaching in our churches, many are living outside of their homes and staying in government designated quarantine centers, some are stranded at airports in an indefinite transit, our very large church buildings and cathedrals where most believe is the center of worship and cannot afford to miss a service are now empty. Indeed, people are more essential than buildings and all of the above. People are more essential and more valuable than bricks, massive steel rods, and cement put together. The English premier and Spanish soccer leagues many could not afford to miss on weekends are no longer available for two weeks now. We can live without entertainments, religion, jobs, businesses, without our best friends and families, but we cannot live without God. This is clearly an incontestable reality dawning upon everyone living on the globe today. Even presidents, statesmen, chief executives, sport stars, musicians, entertainers are coming to terms with this sobering reality. Can you imagine! An entire nation(India) with one billions plus people have been locked indoors! Discos, bars, hotels, brothels, airports, beaches, shopping malls, cafe are under quarantine. Who could have imagine this!!!

Let`s face it, all of us are being quarantined one way or the other. But don`t despair and don’t give in to fear. We(children of God) were made for times like these. There is no better times for the people of God than when there are gross darkness and grave crises situations. When the entire land of Egypt was engulfed in gross darkness, there was light in Goshen(Exodus 10:21-23), where the people of God resided. Light becomes more relevant when darkness increases, even the dimmest light gains relevance during dark seasons. SHINE WHEREEVER YOU!
