Summary: Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away. Genesis 5:24
Enoch is the first man to have checked out of this world alive, the Bible says; Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him (Genesis 5:24). He was translated into eternity without seeing death. Question is, what does it mean to walk with God and how did Enoch walk with God. In Genesis 17:1, the Lord spoke to Abraham and said; ".... "walk before me, and be thou perfect." Genesis 6:9 says the same about Noah, it says; "Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God. Hebrews 11:5 gives us the answer to what it means to walk with God, it says; "by faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him." Notice is says "by faith", it was by faith that Enoch walked with God, same thing with Abraham and Noah.
In 2 Corinthians 5:7, the Bible says; We walk by faith and not by sight. To walk by faith means to lose touch with physical things and relate more with the invisible. It is seeing with the eyes of your spirit, you refuse to recognize any reality that came through the 5 senses, you only recognize what you see with your spirit. Have you ever related with somethings that wasn’t there physically so much so that it felt like the thing was there even though you could not see it. Translation doesn’t only mean going to heaven like Enoch did, it also means to walk by faith and see only what your spiritual senses present to you, until that very thing be translated from the realm of the invisible into the physical earth, the thing which was not there is suddenly there, it was once in your mind, it was once an idea, it was once a dream, but now it is here, you can touch, you can feel it. How did it get from your mind to your hand, one word, FAITH.
Hebrews 11:3 says; through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. This tells us, the universe was first conceived in the mind of God before it became visible. This faith principle is what brought everything into being. When the children of Israel were about to take the city of Jericho, the LORD said to Joshua, "See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men" (Joshua 6:2). When the Lord said "see, I have delivered Jericho into your hands", there was nothing outwardly to show that the city was delivered unto their hands, in fact the enemy was still in possession of the city. So what were they supposed to see? It wasn't what was there that the Lord said to see, it was what was not there. Joshua had to see with the eyes of his spirit, because there was another reality different to what the natural eyes were seeing, and that invisible reality was what he needed to bring into the material world through faith to take the city.
