I. EXORDIUM:

Have you seen the SOURCE of all things?

II. AUDIENCE PROFILE:

Believers

III. OBJECTIVES:

To prove that the LORD GOD is the Source of all things, even our righteousness and strength.

IV. TEXT:

Isaiah 45:24 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

The people will declare, “The Lord is the source of all my righteousness and strength.” And all who were angry with him will come to him and be ashamed.

V. THESIS:

The LORD GOD is the Source of all things, even our righteousness and strength.

VI. TITLE:

The SOURCE

VII. EXPLICATION:

A. Author: Isaiah - son of Amos, prophesied during reigns of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah.

B. Isaiah is regarded as greatest Old Testament prophet: (1) preeminently the prophet of redemption, (2) passages in this book are among the finest in literature.

VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. Why is LORD GOD called the SOURCE?

1. The people will declare. (Isaiah 45:23-24)

Isaiah 45:23-24 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

I have sworn by my own name; I have spoken the truth, and I will never go back on my word: Every knee will bend to me, and every tongue will confess allegiance to me.”

The people will declare, “The Lord is the source of all my righteousness and strength.” And all who were angry with him will come to him and be ashamed.

It's interesting to note that if GOD will say this to Himself, all His claims are valid and trustworthy and does not any reference. GOD alone swears by Himself. As a result, people see these and declare that indeed GOD is the Source of our righteousness and strength.

2. The LORD GOD is the Source of all my righteousness. (Psalms 71:19, Romans 3:10)

Psalms 71:19 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

Your righteousness, O God, reaches to the highest heavens. You have done such wonderful things. Who can compare with you, O God?

We don't have any righteousness in us, but our Source of righteousness is GOD alone.

Romans 3:10 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

As the Scriptures say, “No one is righteous— not even one.

There's great absolute of comparison here, GOD's Righteousness reachest to the highest heavens, while man's righteousness is zero (not even 1)

3. The LORD GOD is the Source of all strength. (Psalms 28:7-8, 1 Corinthians 1:25, Philippians 4:13)

Psalms 28:7-8 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.

The Lord gives his people strength. He is a safe fortress for his anointed king.

1 Corinthians 1:25 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

This foolish plan of God is wiser than the wisest of human plans, and God’s weakness is stronger than the greatest of human strength.

Philippians 4:13 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.

IX. CONCLUSION:

The LORD GOD is the Source of all things, even our righteousness and strength.

Isaiah 45:24 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

The people will declare, “The Lord is the source of all my righteousness and strength.” And all who were angry with him will come to him and be ashamed.
