Deuteronomy 32:26 - 47 The Song of Moses
Moses Sings Of:-
1. God's Perfection Before His People
(a) His Work is Perfect 4 He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.
(b) His Way is Perfect 2 Sam 22:31 As for God, his way is perfect;
the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.
(c) His Word is Perfect Ps 19:7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul:
the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
(d) His Will is Perfect Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good,
and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
2. God's Pursuit Of His People
10 He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.
(a) He Had Sought Them - 10 He found him
(b) He Had Saved Them - 10 He found him in a desert land,
(c) He Had Sustained Them - 10 he led him about
(d) He Had Schooled Them - 10 he instructed him
(e) He Had Sheltered Them - 10 he kept him as the apple of his eye.
3. God's Provision For His People
13 He made him ride on the high places of the earth, that he might eat the increase of the fields; and he made him to suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock;
4. God's Problem With His People
15 But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered with fatness; then he forsook God which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.
They had Become:-
(a) Possessive - Jeshurun waxed fat
(b) Proud - then he forsook God which made him
(c) Presumptuous - and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.
(d) Provocative - 16 They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods,
with abominations provoked they him to anger.
5. God's Plea To His People - The Dying Wish Of Moses
29 O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!
(a) The Charge Levelled - O that they were wise
They were Flawed - O,
They were Foolish - that they were wise
They were Forgetful - that they understood this,
They were Frivilous - that they would consider
They were Finite - their latter end!
(b) The Change Demanded - God was seeking
Discernment - 29 O that they were wise
Discovery - that they understood this
Eph 5:17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
Discipline - that they would consider
Hag 1:5 Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.
Diligence - that they would consider their latter end!
Their Sin, Their Souls, Their Salvation.
(c) The Choice Encouraged - 29 O that they were wise
Deut 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
