Summary: Examining David’s sin of the census
1. David’s SIN (v. 1-6)
A. Know the enemy (cf. Eph. 6:12; 1 Peter 5:8)
B. Know the time of the attack: right after a great victory
C. Know the nature of the sin: David’s sin was that he trusted in man instead of in God (cf. Ps. 118:8-9)
2. David’s SUFFERING (v. 7-15)
A. Famine (we might experience a spiritual famine)
B. War (we might experience conflict)
C. Pestilence (we might experience trouble)
Good News: Verse 13 (Ps. 103:10-11)
3. David’s SANCTIFICATION (v. 16-30)
A. He was sorry for his sin (v. 16)
B. He took responsibility for his sin (v. 17)
C. He was willing to obey God (v. 18-19)
D. He wanted to give to God (v. 20-25)
E. He sacrificed to God (v. 26-28)
