Summary: The good Shepherd is the Prince of Peace. The obedient sheep rest secure in the presence of the good Shepherd.

TEXT: Psalms 23:2 (NLT)

He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams.

The Good Shepherd is the Prince of Peace

"He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters" (Ps 23:2). The good Shepherd is also known as the Prince of Peace. The obedient sheep not only find pasture but no sorrow is attached to his provisions. "The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it" (Prov 10:22). While the stubborn and rebellious goat is always fighting and hassling for food, the shepherd looks for where the best pasture is and leads the sheep to it. Disciples are the people of God and the sheep of his pasture (Ps 95:7, 100:3). We dwell secure in the pasture of God where ravenous wolves cannot enter to cause trouble. The Lord will paralyse every ravenous wolf that want to cause chaos in your life, family and destiny in Jesus name. The peace of God will abide in your home and business in Jesus name.

The Burden Bearer

The shepherd is responsible for the burdens of the sheep. All trouble and struggles for the necessities of life are taken care of by the shepherd. He cares for their every need as far as they hear and follow his instructions (Matt 6:25-33). The shepherd says: "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest (Matt 11:28). There was once a sheep that died and left the family in a mountain of debt. The wife cried to the Shepherd when the debt collectors threatened to sell her children to pay for the debt. The Shepherd intervened and made enough provisions for her to pay the debt and start a business with peace of mind (2kgs 4:1-7). As you lay your burdens before the good Shepherd, he will take care of you and restore your peace in Jesus name.

The Leader and followers

The shepherd leads. The duty of the sheep is to follow. (John 10:4). The shepherd is also known as the Way. He knows the way of peace. Wherever there are storms and ill winds, he stills them for the sheep to sail through. Sheep don't fight, the shepherd fights for them. The good Shepherd is also the Lord of the host of heaven. When there is trouble and the sheep cries for help, the shepherd answers: Psalms 50:15 says: "And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me." The Lord will hear your cries for help and lead you to your place of peace and provision in Jesus name.

PRAYER:

Father, let your peace reign in my life and family in Jesus name.

God bless you. Shalom.
