TOPIC: THE SECURITY OF BELIEVERS.

TEXT :PSALMS 91:1-16

"He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty (11). For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee, in all thy ways."

(Psalms 91:1,11)

We live in a world that has become increasingly dangerous and unsafe. There is the prevalence of evil everywhere ranging from armed robbery, terrorism, kidnapping, banditry, accidents, and all manners of evil. Nations have come under siege and governments seem to be helpless. Individuals have devised various means to help themselves but all to no avail. Uncertainty, insecurity, anxiety, and fear have become the order of the day.

However, in the face of these uncertainties and apprehensions, the promises of God concerning our security are intact and reassuring. The Bible is filled with God's promises but the scripture that readily comes to mind is found in Psalms 91. The Psalms ascertained the fact that God will provide complete security and victory to the believers. You will do well to read and meditate on Psalms 91.

Many have misinterpreted provisions of the psalms and it's application; and ended in disappointment and defeat. Some opened this page of the scripture and spread it under their pillows to prevent a demonic attack, yet they were still being attacked. Let take a closer look at the terms of contract God has with us in this chapter of the Bible. Who do the Psalms apply to? Who will God protect?

WHO WILL GOD PROTECT?

Let look at the first verse

"He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty"

What does it mean to dwell in the secret place of the Most High? What is the implication and how does it apply to us as Christians?

God's security is opened to all who choose to dwell with Him and live in the fortress of His words. Our true security lies in our obedience to God's counsel for our lives. While it is true that can protect anyone He wishes, but those who constantly live a life close to God receive special treatment because of God's commitment to His promises. God takes delight in someone who actively lives a godly life. The one who made up his mind to live for the glory of God and continues to be faithful to the Master. The one that shares in the commitment of Apostle Paul" I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me." (Galatians 2:20) Don't forget in a hurry the warning issued to King Asa "Hear ye me Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The LORD is with you, while ye be with him, and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if you forsake him he will forsake you." (2Chroncle 15:2) Tell me will God secure or protect someone He has forsaken? No! Therefore the security of the backslider is not guaranteed in the economy of God. The same verdict goes for an unrepentant churchgoer who is not born again. Your life must be hidden in Christ to ascertain your security!.

"The secret place of the Most High" is a place of maximum security where safety is assured.

The secret place is invisible to the armed robbers, is hidden from kidnappers, is unknown to the terrorists, is foreign to the power of darkness, is unfamiliar to accidents; is a place you need to be. Settle your account with God and get right with Him for express admission into the secret place of the Highest.

Surrender your life to Christ today. He is waiting to receive you and give you security assurance in time and eternity.

Another reason the secret place of God is so important and guaranteed is that the Almighty God is the Commander in Chief. His shadow provides divine coverage against any attack. He is surrendered by faithful angels who are always on assignment to address the needs of the believers.

THE DUTIES OF ANGELS IN BELIEVERS' SECURITY.

Take a look at verse 11 of our text.

"For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee, in all thy ways"

Angels are sent by God as our protectors, to guard us and fight for us. God commands His faithful messengers to guard us in all our ways. The faithful believers are always under the constant care of the angels.

"Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heir of salvation?" (Hebrew 1:14)

In other words, angels are sent by God to protect us so that we can inherit God's kingdom.

Psalms 34:7 tells us that"The angels of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivered them".
