THE SCOURGE OF THE STRONG MAN

There is an entity in the bible known as the strongman.

This entity is any powerful negative spiritual system whose assignment is to thwarts the Lord’s plan and purpose for your life in any situation.

Ultimately, we are made to understand via the parable of the strongman that this entity is really the Accuser of the Brethren.

In Luke chapter 11, the parable is as follows:

When the strong man, fully armed, guards his own dwelling, his goods are safe. But when someone stronger attacks him and overcomes him, he takes from him his whole armour in which he trusted, and divides his spoils.

Fully armed means that He has every tool at his disposal to ensure you do not attain God’s purpose for your life.

A strongman situation ensures that people go through life as wanderers not achieving anything, not attaining any heights, just using their noses to sniff around like a hedgehog directionless and purposeless for decades.

A strongman situation ensures a ministry is never effective, has no fruits to show for years of toil, that a minister can barely feed his/herself not to talk of spiritually or physically feeding his flock.

A strongman situation ensures that the stars of a family wilt at midstream, when they are supposed to be excelling and making a difference, they stumble and die suddenly not being able to point at anything they did.

A strongman situation ensures a marriage full of promise is destroyed by third party strangers, suspicion, mistrust and infidelity.

A strongman situation ensures a promising business with good products and ideas is buffeted suddenly and collapses under the weight of wrong managerial decisions, the spirit of error and insider attacks.

If you have a dream of strongmen sitting in your home, or on your business premises or in your children’s bedroom it means you have to pray!

If you have a dream of strongmen sitting in your church premises, it means you have to pray! If you have been praying, it means you have to pray even harder.

Luke 11 says but when someone stronger attacks him and overcomes him, he takes from him his whole armour in which he trusted, and divides his spoils.

The only one that can attack The Strongman and win the battle, the war is the Head of All Principalities and powers. Who is the Head of All principalities and powers?

The Lord Jesus is 'head of all principality and power'. He is superior to and in command of every form of power and authority.

How do we know? Just look at Colossians 2:10

Colossians 2:10, NIV: "and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. ... Colossians 2:10, NLT: "So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority." Colossians 2:10, CSB: "and you have been filled by him, who is the head over every ruler and authority."

John 1 states thus: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

The strongman cannot comprehend Jesus. Not possible.

Colossians 2:15 states,

15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. Yeshua "the rescuer", "the deliverer" is able to plunder the strongman in your family, marriage, business, ministry, health and rescue you completely.

The strongmen are warriors, they are tough, contending with us on a daily basis.

But Isaiah 49:24–25 settles it.

Can plunder be taken from warriors, or captives rescued from the fierce?

But this is what the LORD says: "Yes, captives will be taken from warriors,

and plunder retrieved from the fierce; I will contend with those who contend with you, and your children I will save. (Isaiah 49:24–25, NIV)

So there is hope for a tree that if it be cut off If it is cut down, it will sprout again, and its new shoots will not fail. Its roots may grow old in the ground and its stump die in the soil, yet at the scent of water it will bud and put forth shoots like a plant.”

The scent that raises it from the strongman’s attacks and arrow and axe is the scent of the living waters. In Jeremiah 2:13 and 17:13, the prophet describes God as "the spring of living water", who has been forsaken by his chosen people Israel.

Whatever He touches reverses the death throes caused by strongman attacks.
