The Revealer Of Mysteries
Have you had issues that troubled you and you could not find a way to solve them? Mysteries often trouble us and take time to resolve in our minds. One might lay awake for hours at night trying to solve them; to no avail. It encompasses your mind to the point of madness. Perhaps you pray about it and pray more. Suddenly the mystery is revealed. You wake from slumber refreshed knowing the mystery has been solved; you know what to do.
How do these things happen? All too often, man will not accept the fact God is the revealer of mysteries.
Mark 4:10-11. 10 And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable. 11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:
To whom was the mystery of the kingdom of God revealed? To you, of whom will accept the teaching of Jesus as Savior, is it given.
Eph. 1:3, 7-9. 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: 7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; 8 Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; 9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
These things take place in our age. God has not denied his children anything pertaining to knowledge and wisdom.
The Apostle Paul, over and over tried to reveal the mystery of salvation through Christ our Lord to all to whom would listen.
Who , then, is this revealer of mysteries? Can we know beyond doubt who reveals mysteries of life and salvation?
Let us find out the answer to this question from an old source from long ago.
Turn to Daniel chapter 2.
King Nebuchadnezzar had a dream in his sleep. It troubled him for many days and nights. He pondered the dream over and over but could not comfort himself with any interpretation. He called for his magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans to find an answer to his dream; but they could not reveal the dream nor the solution to the king’s satisfaction.
Very often, these troubles cannot be resolved by man’s abilities. Jer. 10:23. 23 O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.
Man’s interpretations are often wrong. If we rely upon man, we will stumble and fall. Therefore, we must turn to God for our troubles and resolutions.
What was the king to do for peace in his mind concerning his dream? If man could not tell him his dream and interpret it, how could he find peace and rest?
The king did as many might do today who is in power and position to fulfill their anger. He threatened to have all his magicians, astrologers, sorcerers and the Chaldeans to be put to death if they could not tell him his dream and interpret his dream.
When Daniel heard of the situation, he called his friends to help, and called upon God to give the mystery (chapter 2:14-17).
What happened? Vs. 19 tells us. 19 Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision.
Daniel received an answer from a vision; night vision; a dream. Who interferes with our dreams? We are in a state of unconsciousness. Therefore, it must be a spiritual being imposing upon our minds. Who can do such? The answer is Satan or God.
Realize, Satan interferes with our minds to draw us away from God. God interferes with our mind to give us insight to knowledge and wisdom of the mysteries of God. He guides our minds to salvation, comfort, peace and joy in life–this life and life eternal.
To Daniel was the dream revealed from God. Daniel’s response was received in this manner:
Daniel 2:20-23. 20 Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his: 21 And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding: 22 He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him. 23 I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made known unto us the king's matter.
