Summary: God never fails us at any time.

THE PROMISES OF OUR GOD

Gal.2: 16Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

17But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.

18For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.

19For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.

20I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

21I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

The promises of God are exact, exciting and eternal. Of all God’s promises not one has ever failed.

Thank God that why they call them “Precious Promises”.

1. His promises are divinely faithful.

Heb.6: 17Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:

18That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

2nd Peter 3: 9The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance

God is totally independent of all power

All power dependent on God

He is independent of all purity

All purity is dependent on God

Perfection is dependent on God

He is independent of all perfection

2. Promises demand faith

Eph.1: 13In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

Not obedience to the law--------- but faith

Not observance of rituals------but faith

No order of religion ------------but faith

3. God’s promises are designed for forgiveness

Eph.2: 12That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

13But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

School master; how far we miss the mark

Show us how sinful we are

Save the sinner by Grace through Faith

4. His promises are desired for fellowship

1st John 1: 7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Mediate act in order to bring about agreement

Merger act of absorbing all the debt is sin

Mend act of fixing all that was lacking

5. His promises are a deadline for the future

2nd Cor.1: 18But as God is true, our word toward you was not yea and nay.

19For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, even by me and Silvanus and Timotheus, was not yea and nay, but in him was yea.

20For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

Runs out when the Holy Spirit departs

Runs out at the death of a sinner

Runs out at the demands of God when he has had enough

6.His promises are a delight to his followers

He has promised Christ will return

We are promised a reservation

We are promised a resurrection

6. Only a fool would dishonor

Psalm 14: 4Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD.

Unbelief will not change Gods Word

Unbelief will condemn the sinner

Unbelief will send you to Hell

Believe in Christ as you Lord and savior now and be saved
