II/ GOD’S MERCY IN CONFRONTING DAVID ABOUT HIS SIN
A. GOD SENDS NATHAN WITH A STORY - 2 Samuel 12:1-4
1. WHAT DID THE RICH MAN DO ?
a. He said in his heart let others give
b. He failed to love(pity)the poor man
c. He robbed the poor man of his possessions
2. WHAT DID DAVID DO?
a. He may have seen Bathsheba on the roof top
before, as the rich man coveted his wealth,
David coveted this woman."when lust hath
conceived it brings forth sin"
b. He failed to remember God’s warning’s about
Adultery, & to respect Uriah’s family.
c. He robbed Uriah of his wife and his life
3. WHAT DO WE DO?
a. We say let others do the Christian work, as
the rich man coveted his wealth, we covet our
time to play or to pursue our pleasures
b. We forget God’s word and begin to believe the
world’s slant on sex, thus we also fail to
respect the family of another.
c. We could rob family’s of happiness and of a
chance to hear the Gospel if we are not
careful.
B. DAVID’S ANGER AT THE RICH MAN - 2 Samuel 12:5-6
C. DAVID LEARNS WHO IS AT FAULT: - 2 Samuel 12:7a
D. WHY DID DAVID COMMIT ADULTARY? – He wasn’t
satisfied with what he had. But God reminds David
of all He has done for him. 2 Samuel 12:7b-8

III/ THE RESULT OF SIN
