The Prayer of Agreement

Matthew 18:19 - “Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them. (NIV)
2 Chronicles 7:14 - if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. (NIV)
I. You Must Be Born Again. (Matthew 18:1-3, 2 Chronicles 7:14)
A. In order to pray this prayer you must be born-again! (John 3:3, 7)
B. To Repent and be Converted means to go in another direction. (2 Corinthians 5:17-21)
II. Walking in Humility. (Matthew 18:4, 2 Chronicles 7:14)
A. Becoming as a little child…
1. By receiving God’s children. (v. 5-6)
2. By not offending God’s children. (v. 7-14)
3. By loving unconditionally…
B. God requires this of us.
1. Life is full of choices. We wither choose to be a Christian or a lost person. Choose you this day who you will serve…
III. Be open to Emotional Healing and Reconciliation. (Matthew 18:15-18, 2 Chronicles 7:14)
A. God has given unto everyone of us the “ministry of reconciliation.”
2 Corinthians 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
B. Scripture tells us what to do! (v. 15-18) - Expound
IV. The Prayer of Agreement (a Symphony of Prayer) produces power. (v. 19)
A. Jesus said when I find these things in fellowship "I will be there." (v. 20)
B. "Agree together" = Gr. is the word we get symphony from.
C. To have a symphony you must have.
1. A Score = Word.
2. A Conductor = The Holy Spirit.
3. Musicians/ those who play the music = You and Me!!! (This REQUIRES unity)
