The Power of Midnight Deliverance
God does about everything important at midnight. When He finally decided to deliver the children of Israel from bondage in the land of Egypt, He did not choose the hours of the day but the significant period of midnight.
The period around the middle of the night is the time of intense darkness and demonic activities. The moment that splits the night into two is vital to deliverance and spiritual warfare. The kingdom of darkness is active during this period programming evil into people’s lives. Wicked witchcraft attacks are carried out against ignorant people during the hours of darkness. It is difficult to physically explain why a healthy man and in shape, went to sleep and suddenly woke up in the middle of the night with a fractured leg.
It is not a surprise however, that God chooses the same moment in time to destroy every completed work of darkness.
“And it came to pass, that at midnight the LORD smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle.
And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt; for there was not a house where there was not one dead.
And he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, Rise up, and get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children of Israel; and go, serve the LORD, as ye have said.”
Exodus 12:29-31.
The midnight deliverance is strategic to the reversing of evil completion against lives. David in the bible knew the significance of midnight prayers. He chose to get up at midnight to pray and thank God for his deliverance.
“At midnight I will rise to give thanks unto thee because of thy righteous judgments.”
Psalm 119:62.
Anyone that is serious about breaking satanic bondage and limitations will not joke with midnight prayers. The yoke of the enemy was hard and resilient in the lives of the children of Israel in slavery in Egypt however, the powers of Pharaoh could not resist the midnight deliverance led by the Almighty God of Passover.
There is another powerful midnight deliverance story in the bible. At Philippi, Paul and Silas carried out deliverance service that put them in danger. They were beaten up, constrained with chains and subsequently put into the inner division of an underground prison chamber. This was a typical prison during that time. It was impossible for the prisoners to escape or even try to break away from of captivity especially when the Prison Officer had been specially commanded to ensure these ministers of God did not break out of jail. However, at midnight while Paul and Silas prayed and sang praises unto God, the Spirit of God shook the whole prison chamber and set His men free.
“And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely:
Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.
And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.”
Acts 16:23-26.
The Lord will move at midnight to set the captives free in the name of Jesus. The devil must not discourage you from breaking free from satanic bondage. The night period is very difficult for prayers. It is uneasy because it is the hours of sleep. However, the time of sleep is the occasion that the enemies sow evil seeds in the lives of many people.
It is understatement to say crucial decisions take place at night. You too must be ready to be decisive by taking part in midnight deliverance prayers. Your destiny is in your hands.
Finally, you can take inspiration and assurance in your midnight deliverance from our Lord Jesus Christ. He was telling his followers about the importance of persistent midnight prayers.
“And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves;
For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him?
And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee.
I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth.”
