THE MAN WHO KISSED THE DOOR OF HEAVEN AND WENT TO HELL

MATTHEW 26:47-50

If you would be so kind to stand with me as we give reverence to the Reading of God’s Word

PRAYER

This morning I would like to preach with the power and the presence of the Holy Spirit on this topic. THE MAN WHO KISSED THE DOOR OF HEAVEN AND WENT TO HELL.

In our text we see two major players: Judas Iscariot and Jesus.

Jesus Describes Himself as the Door

JOHN 10:7-9

Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. 8 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. 9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

Jesus said about Himself that He and He only is the Door.

Jesus is speaking here that He is the Door to a place called heaven.

JOHN 14:6

ROMANS 5:2

By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

EPHESIANS 2:18

For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

It does not matter what I believe or what you believe God’s Word tells us that to go to heaven and escape the eternal flames of hell Jesus and Him alone is the only way!!

NOT YOUR BAPTISM NOT YOUR GOOD WORKS NOT SPEAKING IN TONGUES NOT YOUR CHURCH MEMBERSHIP

BUT JESUS AND JESUS ALONE

ROMANS1:16 – The Gospel is the power or the way to go to heaven.

The Gospel is defined in I Corinthians 15:1-4 as the DEATH – BURIAL – RESURRECTION of one person and His name is Jesus!!

Jesus is the ONLY DOOR TO HEAVEN!!

The second person in our text is Judas Iscariot.

He is described as a betrayer – a thief – Church member – Apostle – a healer – one who could cast out demons – led people to Jesus

This reminds me of what Jesus said in

MATTHEW 7:21-23

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

PRAYING A PRAYER WILL NOT GET YOU INTO HEAVEN

JUST BECAUSE I AM CALLED A PREACHER DOES NOT GET ME INTO HEAVEN

SO CALLED MIRACLE WORKERS

BEING A CHURCH MEMBER

A SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER OR A LEADER IN OUR CHURCH

Judas did more than you or I will ever will do – but right now at this time Judas is in Hell right now

Now some believe that Judas went to heaven.

27:3-5

Vs 3 – When read he repented. This word does not mean he repented of being a sinner although every day for 3 ½ years he had many chances.

This word means there was remorse. His conscience was scared and he wanted to ease his conscience.

And what Judas did is the same thing that many people do and they think they are saved and going to heaven.

SALVATION IS A LIFE CHANGER – A GAME CHANGER

II CORINTHIANS 5:17

When I received Jesus Christ as my personal Savior things change I DID NOT WANT TO SIN ANYMORE EVEN THOUGH I DO EVERY DAY.

I DO NOT HAVE TO GO TO CHURCH - I WANT TO GO TO CHURCH I DO NOT HAVE TO READ MY BIBLE - I WANT TO READ AND OBEY GOD’S WORD I DO NOT HAVE TO PRAY – I WANT TO PRAY

I DO NOT HAVE TO DO RIGHT – I WANT TO DO RIGHT BECAUSE I LOVE JESUS

LISTEN VERY CLOSELY IF YOU CAN SIN AND WIN THE BOTTOM LINE IS THE BIBLE SAYS YOU ARE NOT IN

I DO NOT HAVE TO TELL PEOPLE ABOUT JESUS I WANT TO TELL PEOPLE ABOUT JESUS.

MATTHEW 10:32-33

Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. 33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

I HAVE BEEN BORN AGAIN – CONVERTED – I AM NOT THE PERSON I USED TO BE!!

SALVATION IS A LIFESTYLE CHANGE

So let us look at this man named Judas who kissed the door of heaven and went to Hell.
