THE MAN WHO KISSED THE DOOR OF HEAVEN AND WENT TO HELL
MATTHEW 26:47-50
If you would be so kind to stand with me as we give reverence to the Reading of God’s Word
PRAYER
This morning I would like to preach with the power and the presence of the Holy Spirit on this topic. THE MAN WHO KISSED THE DOOR OF HEAVEN AND WENT TO HELL.
In our text we see two major players: Judas Iscariot and Jesus.
Jesus Describes Himself as the Door
JOHN 10:7-9
Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. 8 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. 9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
Jesus said about Himself that He and He only is the Door.
Jesus is speaking here that He is the Door to a place called heaven.
JOHN 14:6
ROMANS 5:2
By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
EPHESIANS 2:18
For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
It does not matter what I believe or what you believe God’s Word tells us that to go to heaven and escape the eternal flames of hell Jesus and Him alone is the only way!!
NOT YOUR BAPTISM NOT YOUR GOOD WORKS NOT SPEAKING IN TONGUES NOT YOUR CHURCH MEMBERSHIP
BUT JESUS AND JESUS ALONE
ROMANS1:16 – The Gospel is the power or the way to go to heaven.
The Gospel is defined in I Corinthians 15:1-4 as the DEATH – BURIAL – RESURRECTION of one person and His name is Jesus!!
Jesus is the ONLY DOOR TO HEAVEN!!
The second person in our text is Judas Iscariot.
He is described as a betrayer – a thief – Church member – Apostle – a healer – one who could cast out demons – led people to Jesus
This reminds me of what Jesus said in
MATTHEW 7:21-23
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
PRAYING A PRAYER WILL NOT GET YOU INTO HEAVEN
JUST BECAUSE I AM CALLED A PREACHER DOES NOT GET ME INTO HEAVEN
SO CALLED MIRACLE WORKERS
BEING A CHURCH MEMBER
A SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER OR A LEADER IN OUR CHURCH
Judas did more than you or I will ever will do – but right now at this time Judas is in Hell right now
Now some believe that Judas went to heaven.
27:3-5
Vs 3 – When read he repented. This word does not mean he repented of being a sinner although every day for 3 ½ years he had many chances.
This word means there was remorse. His conscience was scared and he wanted to ease his conscience.
And what Judas did is the same thing that many people do and they think they are saved and going to heaven.
SALVATION IS A LIFE CHANGER – A GAME CHANGER
II CORINTHIANS 5:17
When I received Jesus Christ as my personal Savior things change I DID NOT WANT TO SIN ANYMORE EVEN THOUGH I DO EVERY DAY.
I DO NOT HAVE TO GO TO CHURCH - I WANT TO GO TO CHURCH I DO NOT HAVE TO READ MY BIBLE - I WANT TO READ AND OBEY GOD’S WORD I DO NOT HAVE TO PRAY – I WANT TO PRAY
I DO NOT HAVE TO DO RIGHT – I WANT TO DO RIGHT BECAUSE I LOVE JESUS
LISTEN VERY CLOSELY IF YOU CAN SIN AND WIN THE BOTTOM LINE IS THE BIBLE SAYS YOU ARE NOT IN
I DO NOT HAVE TO TELL PEOPLE ABOUT JESUS I WANT TO TELL PEOPLE ABOUT JESUS.
MATTHEW 10:32-33
Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. 33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
I HAVE BEEN BORN AGAIN – CONVERTED – I AM NOT THE PERSON I USED TO BE!!
SALVATION IS A LIFESTYLE CHANGE
So let us look at this man named Judas who kissed the door of heaven and went to Hell.
I. THE CRIME OF JUDAS
MATTHEW 26:14-16
There can be no doubt of His crime, for 30 pieces of silver, the price of a slave; he sold out the Son of God.
He betrayed the creator of the Universe He betrayed the only perfect Man who ever lived He betrayed the One Person who had done more for him than anyone else on the earth.
For 30 pieces of silver – the price of a slave.
Have you heard of the name Edward Snowden?
He sold out his Country to the highest bidder China and Russia and put many of our men and women in harm’s way.
I get the spying on Americans – But to sell information to our enemies – HE IS A TRAIDER.
But compared to what Judas did is a drop in a bucket to what Snowden did.
The Bible describes that dark night in History when Jesus went into the Garden of Gethsemane, he left 8 disciples at the edge of the Garden and took Peter, James and John further into the Garden and asked them to wait and pray while Jesus went further into the Garden.
After Jesus was done praying He came out of the Garden, soldiers came led by Judas came into the garden.
Judas had already told the soldiers the One He would kiss would be the one they wanted.
Now why did Judas betray Jesus with a kiss?
For 3 ½ years Judas had pretended to be a Companion
Friend Supporter Follower
With a kiss he was still continuing to act like a believer but in all reality all Judas was, was a Hypocrite – a Traitor – The one who betrayed the Son of God.
You might be asking yourself I would never do that – Many today yea probably right here in this place Kiss the Door of Heaven by:
PRETENDING TO BE A DISCIPLE
There may be some here today who are betraying Jesus with a kiss of Church Membership – the Kiss of Baptism – The Kiss of Works
But the truth be known only two people know if you are truly born again – YOU AND GOD.
I DO NOT MATTER YOUR SPOUSE DOES NOT MATTER
YOUR MOM OR DAD DOES NOT MATTER
All that matters is what you will do with Jesus! Will you betray Him with a Kiss or will you receive Him as your Savior.
II. THE CHARACTER OF JUDAS
On the outside Judas looked the part, he was impeccable in his character.
He looked so good that the disciples put him in charge of the money.
And get this, he fooled the others so good that when Jesus told them that one of them would betray Him not one of them thought it was Judas
Even when Jesus gave them a sign they still did not get it!!
MATTHEW 26:17-25
Judas had fooled everyone except the One that counted.
Listen I was a Judas – I played the part of the Hypocrite – I prayed a prayer - I was baptized – I was one of the leaders of our teen department – I was a bus captain – I led people to Christ – I WAS A JUDAS AND BY THE GRACE OF GOD I LEFT MY PRIDE CAME TO JESUS ASK HIM TO FORGIVE ME AS A SINNER AND COME INTO MY HEART – AND GUESS WHAT SOMETHING HAPPENED THAT NIGHT – GOD STARTED IMMEDIATELY ON THE CHANGING DEPARTMENT!!!!
AND GUESS WHAT I HAVE NEVER BEEN THE SAME – I HAVE NEVER GOTTEN OVER IT AND I PRAY THAT I WILL NEVER WILL
I JOHN 5:11-13
And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
How Sure Are You That If You Left This Earth This Afternoon You would go to heaven.

III. THE CONDEMNATION OF JUDAS
Can you imagine walking – talking – watching Jesus for 3 ½ years. Being in the inner-circle and still end up in hell.
Luke 16:19-31 – Jesus opens up the earth and gives a look of the torments of hell.
Everything about hell is horrible but the most horrible thing about hell is the memories.
Memories of every time you rejected Jesus Christ and realizing you are there because you chose to be there.
I can only imagine the memories that is going through the mind of Judas.
Whether you reject Jesus 1 time or a million times, that moment when the Holy Spirit is speaking to you showing you the need of being saved – that moment or moments will run through your mind every second of every day for all eternity.
My prayer for you this morning is that you will not kiss the door of heaven and end up in hell
SAVED PERSON DO YOU REALLY BELIEVE IN HELL? AND BEFORE YOU RAISED YOUR HANDS HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE YOU INVITED PERSONALLY THIS PAST WEEK TO COME TO CHURCH – HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE YOU GIVEN A TRACT TO – HOW MANY HAVE YOU SHARED THE GOSPEL WITH THIS PAST WEEK.
NOW THINK ABOUT IT DO YOU REALLY BELIEVE IN A REAL LITTERAL BURNING TORMENTING PLACE CALLED HELL?
