The Lord Waits To Show His Mercy And Grace

Is GOD Merciful and Kind to you? Who's waiting for GOD's blessings, you or GOD?

II. AUDIENCE PROFILE:

Believers

III. OBJECTIVES:

To show that GOD is the One waiting for us, when we pray, because He longed to be gracious and merciful to us even before the foundation of the world.

IV. TEXT:

Isaiah 30:18 (Amplified Bible)

30:18 And therefore the Lord [earnestly] waits [expecting, looking, and longing] to be gracious to you; and therefore He lifts Himself up, that He may have mercy on you and show loving-kindness to you. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are all those who [earnestly] wait for Him, who expect and look and long for Him [for His victory, His favour, His love, His peace, His joy, and His matchless, unbroken companionship]!

V. THESIS:

Praise, worship and thank You very much LORD JESUS for You waits for me to show Your Grace and Mercy to me. I received them all now in Your Name.

VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. The LORD is the One waiting

"And therefore the Lord [earnestly] waits [expecting, looking, and longing]"

1. The LORD is the One waiting for His coming.

John 14:3 (Amplified Bible)

14:3 And when (if) I go and make ready a place for you, I will come back again and will take you to Myself, that where I am you may be also.

2. The LORD is waiting to give all His Grace to us.

2 Corinthians 12:9 (Amplified Bible)

12:9 But He said to me, My grace (My favor and loving-kindness and mercy) is enough for you [sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the trouble manfully]; for My strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed) and show themselves most effective in [your] weakness. Therefore, I will all the more gladly glory in my weaknesses and infirmities, that the strength and power of Christ (the Messiah) may rest (yes, may pitch a tent over and dwell) upon me!

3. The LORD gives us His own Peace in this troubled world.

- The LORD does not want us to be agitated, disturbed, fearful, intimidated, cowardly and unsettled in this agitated, disturbed, fearful, intimidated, cowardly, and unsettled world.

John 14:27 (Amplified Bible)

14:27 Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.]

B. To show His Mercy and Grace to me

"to be gracious to you; and therefore He lifts Himself up, that He may have mercy on you and show loving-kindness to you. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are all those who [earnestly] wait for Him, who expect and look and long for Him [for His victory, His favor, His love, His peace, His joy, and His matchless, unbroken companionship]!"

The LORD does not show His anger and judgment on us, that's what the world sees though the LORD shows constantly His love and mercy to the world, the world can't accept that in it's current state. What we only see is His Grace and mercy to those who believe.

All we do in this world and in this life are not fruits of our human will and human effort but it's all Divine Mercy. The LORD accomplishes His will and effort in us so we are victorious in this life.

Romans 9:15-18 (Amplified Bible)

9:15 For He says to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy and I will have compassion (pity) on whom I will have compassion.

9:16 So then [God’s gift] is not a question of human will and human effort, but of God’s mercy. [It depends not on one’s own willingness nor on his strenuous exertion as in running a race, but on God’s having mercy on him.]

9:17 For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, I have raised you up for this very purpose of displaying My power in [dealing with] you, so that My name may be proclaimed the whole world over.

9:18 So then He has mercy on whomever He wills (chooses) and He hardens (makes stubborn and unyielding the heart of) whomever He wills.
