a. By Preservation

i. Separated from the world (Mark 11:2 you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden.) (2 Timothy 2:21 If a man cleanses himself from [wickedness], he will be an instrument for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.)

ii. Preserve our time and energy

b. By Preparation (v 7) The donkey was prepared for service and so must we be.

i. 1 Peter 3:15 Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.

ii. 2 Timothy 2:15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.

III. Satisfied

a. To Present Himself

i. 2 Timothy 2:15 "present yourself to God"

ii. Romans 12:1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God

b. To Play a Humble part (Galatians 6:13 May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.)

i. The donkey’s job was to lift Jesus up to be seen by the crowds. That is our job today.
