The Law Is Not Evil

Romans 7:7-13 King James Version (KJV)

7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.

8 But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.

9 For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.

10 And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.

11 For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.

12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.

13 Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.

Beloved when we read the scripture above, the noun form of sin is used throughout. Paul was referring to sin as a person in this scripture.

Sin is a different entity from the Law. These are two different persons. Sin however derives it's power from the Law. The Law gives sin the power to bite and cause harm.

Sin without the Law is dead and is of no effect. Sin works through the Law to create sinful desires in our bodies. So the Law says do not steal, if not for the Law, we would not know stealing is not good and have to stay away; sin then uses this knowledge of the Law to create the temptation to steal in you and due to the weakness of man in the flesh you fall to this temptation and commits sin when you commit this sin, you come under condemnation of the Law and the wages therefo is death.

Beloved without the Law there is no condemnation so sin fights a lost battle or goes on a fruitless journey.

The Law in itself is good and a masterpiece from God. It's purpose is to guide us to life by giving us moral guidance which empowers us to live in peace and harmony with each other and please God by doing right.

Sin has taken advantage of this good by God and is using it against man to bring man into condemnation. So when you die to the Law, sin cannot have any effect on you since there will be no law to bring you into condemnation.

Beloved, let me use the issue of *credit cards* to explain this further. Credit cards are meant to provide financial assistance to the holders in times of financial constraints to take them out of financial hardship and frustration. So credit card is a good thing, more or less.

Now, the invention of credit cards which is a good thing have been taken advantage of by others and they indulge in credit card fraud. These people are influenced by a set of knowledge, skills and advisors.

They steal people's credit card details and use their money on the card and putting the people in deeper financial constraints and frustration because now the card has been used probably beyond what the holder will usually use or manage and also the holder will have to look for extra money to buy what he needs then pay for that plus that which was stolen from credit card.

The credit card which is good and was invented and acquired for a good purpose to relieve people of financial constraints and frustration has become a burden and the cause of deeper financial constraints and frustrations.

This does not make credit cards bad.

3. *The set of knowledge, skills and advisors of the credit card fraudster, who causes him to defraud the credit card holder is sin*

So the Law that had to lead man to life and out of immorality has now been used by sin to get him into immoral acts leading to condemnation and death.

Beloved *ITS ALL ABOUT JESUS* and no one else. Jesus fulfilled the Law because sin could not reign in His body and He nailed sin to the cross. Live in Him and Him in you that in Him you might fulfil the Law and live by His Grace.

Prayer: Daddy, please give me deeper understanding of your grace that I live by grace in Jesus always. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
