Plan for: Thanksgiving | Advent | Christmas
This sermon explores the joy and benefits that come from being generous within the Kingdom of God.
Today, I want to share a message that I believe the Lord has placed on my heart. It's about the benefits of giving in the Kingdom of God. We all could use a financial miracle, and this message will show us how giving can lead to that. Our church has been experiencing great things, such as changed lives, salvations, church launches, and restored families. And all of this is made possible through your giving. We have an upcoming conference and many more things God wants to do, so it's important for our church to have a giving mentality.
When we give, it draws us closer to God. The Bible says, "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also" (Matthew 6:21, NIV). Our money reflects where our heart is. When we give to God, it shows that our heart is with Him. Giving is an act of worship that brings us closer to God. Just as singing and praising draw us closer to Him, so does giving. It's like spiritual aerobics that strengthen our hearts.
Giving also strengthens our faith. It proves the reality of our faith and trust in God. Sometimes, God uses finances to test our faith. When we have to choose between paying a bill or giving our tithes, it becomes a test of our trust in God's provision. By giving sacrificially, even when it hurts, we exercise our faith and see God come through for us. Faith is like a muscle that grows stronger the more we exercise it.
God promises blessings when we give faithfully. Luke 6:38 says, "Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you" (NIV). When we give, God blesses us in various ways. It could be through a raise at work, decreased expenses, or overall provision. Giving feels good because it aligns us with God's heart and brings blessings into our lives.
In conclusion, there are significant benefits to giving in the Kingdom of God. It draws us closer to Him, strengthens our faith, and brings blessings into our lives. Giving is an act of worship that reflects our trust in God's provision. As we continue to give faithfully, we will experience the joy and excitement of seeing lives changed and God's work advancing. Let us be a church that excels in the grace of giving, knowing that God will bless us abundantly as we sow into His Kingdom.
