Summary: THE JOURNEY IS TOO GREAT FOR YOU! But The Journey is not too Great for You and GOD!

Hebrew:

• The Old and New Testaments were originally written in Hebrew.

o Our Old Testament was translated from Hebrew into English.

o Abba (Father)

o Rabbi *rob-be* (Teacher)

o Amen *ah-main*

Text: I Kings 19:5-8

Background:

There had been a great drought in the land. Elijah had a faceoff with the 450 priest of Baal. When it was his turn he had them for 4 barrels of very precious Water 3 times: 12 barrels in all poured upon the sacrifice.

In Job chapter 36 it speaks of how God sends down the rain in accordance to the vapor that goes up.

He prayers a 60 some word prayer and God answers by fire!

The false prophets are slain by the sword. And Elijah is moved upon nightly by the “hand of the LORD” or as the Targums (Aramaic Translation) says: the “spirit of strength” and out runs the king in his fast chariots.

Elijah prayed 7 times and the rain came down!

Then in I Kings 19:2 old Jezzie said, “So let the gods do [to me], and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time.”

Do what? Slay her. And true to her word it was so. For shortly after this she was thrown down from a tower and eaten by wild dogs.

Then we find ourselves back with a weary Elijah who had hid himself all alone in the southernmost part of the promise land wilderness (Beersheba), asleep in weariness.

The angel was there to minister to him in his time of weakness and need; to feed him what he needed to have the strength for the 150 mile journey ahead of him.

God has sent Brother White here to feed you so that you can finish what God has started in your life.

God has sent me here tonight to feed you from the bread of life so that you can finish what God has started in your life.

I think one of the most important things I can tell you this evening is:

THE JOURNEY IS TOO GREAT FOR YOU!

But

The Journey is not too Great for You and GOD!

You need God.

Without Him you can do nothing.

I know a foundational principle from the Word of God that you can Feast on and Rest in that will change everything in your life for the better:

This simple yet powerful truth is found in Genesis chapter 1 and verse 2.

But first let’s read it from Jeremiah 4:23 “I beheld the earth, and, lo, [it was] without form, and void; and the heavens, and they [had] no light.”

Genesis 1:2 “And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness [was] upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.”

When the Spirit of God moves it fixes everything.

There is nothing too big for God’s Spirit.

When the Spirit would move upon Samson he Rent a Lion;

He slew 30 enemy men;

He slew another 1,000 with a jawbone.

When the Spirit was upon David, he Rent a Bear and he Rent a Lion and he wrenched Goliath’s head from his body.

When the Spirit moves on you, what can you overcome? Endure? Survive? Have Victory Over?

Isaiah 59:19 “…When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.”

Isaiah 54:17 “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue [that] shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This [is] the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness [is] of me, saith the LORD.”

THE JOURNEY IS TOO GREAT FOR YOU…Without God.

Now is your opportunity to come and drink from the well of living water.
