The Journey

Summary: “Life is not a journey to the grave with intentions of arriving safely in a pretty well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming ... WOW! What a ride!” Just the word “Journey” sounds
The Journey Genesis 12:1-3
Now the LORD had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you. 2 I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

Just the word “Journey” sounds fun to me. However, I have to admit that just a few years ago “journey” sounded a lot more exciting. (I once would go anywhere at the drop of a hat.)
However presently, I count the cost, pray and listen. Furthermore, when I go on a journey its God who sends me.
No more games! Don’t have time, and I’m not too old for it, but God’s plans are far too important!
Verse 1, now the Lord had said to Abram:
Those who leave their sins, and turn to God, will be unspeakable gainers by the change. The command God gave to Abram is much the same with the gospel call, for natural affection must give way to Divine grace. Sin, and all the occasions of it, must be forsaken; particularly bad company.
Genesis 12:1 Amp. NOW [in Haran] the Lord said to Abram, Go for yourself [for your own advantage] away from your country, from your relatives and your father's house, to the land that I will show you.
Crane Eater Community we are on a journey. It’s not a mistaken journey- no; it’s a journey that propels you into His greatest- now and forever.
In Genesis 12:1a NOW [in Haran] the Lord said to Abram,
A. Are you willing to listen? To listen means- you hear.
I Cor. 10:17NKJ So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Before you can take off you have to hear God. 1. Do the little things. 2. Be faithful right now. 3. Bloom now.
Verse 1a…the Lord said to Abram…Are you doing what He said to you?
Genesis 12:1b… Go for yourself [for your own advantage] away from your country, from your relatives and your father's house…
B. Are you willing to change positions?
Go forward- your legs are positioned to go forward.
Your feet and toes are in front of you. One man said, “A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.”
James 1:21-23NKJ Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. 22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror;
Genesis 12:1c… to the land that I will show you.
C. Are you willing to spread your wings?
1. I will make you a great nation.
2. I will bless you.
3. I will make your name great.
4. You shall be a blessing.
5. I will bless those who bless you.
6. I will curse those who curse you.
7. In you shall all the families of the earth be blessed.
“There is no better time than right now to be happy. Happiness is a journey, not a destination. So work like you don't need money. Love like you've never been hurt, and, Dance like no one's watching...”
James 2:23NLT And so it happened just as the Scriptures say: “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.” He was even called the friend of God.
God made the journey… Noah made the journey… Enoch made the journey… Abraham made the journey… Joseph made the journey… Esther made the journey… Jesus made the journey!
Prayer.
