Why this Subtle Attack

- Christianity convicts the unbeliever, if

we can disprove it our conscience is then set at ease.

- First attack and rid the world of Christ

and then present propagate your own agenda

Flawed Archeology

On the book cover: The Jesus Family Tomb, The Discovery, the Investigation, and the Evidence That Could Change History " written by Simcha Jacobovici and Charles Pellegrino

1, Not new, Ossuary discovered in 1980

- Inscribed in Aramaic with the name "James, son of Joseph, brother of Jesus" was once part of the "family tomb" collection.

2. In 1931 an ossuary was found with the inscription “Jesus son of Joseph

- This now makes two “son of Jesus” on it

3. 100 ossuaries in Israel bear the names Jesus, Joseph, and Mary

- 22 ossuaries have been found with the name of Jesus on them

- Another ossuary had “Shimeon son of Jesus.”

- Joseph is the second most common male name in the period.

- Jesus is the sixth.

- 1/4 of the pop at that time were named Mary

- No know relationship of Jesus to Matthew

- Mk.6:3 Lists four half-brothers of Christ: James, Joses (or Joseph), Judas (not Judas the traitor) and Simon.

- There were ossuaries for a James and a Jose, no other ossuaries with inscriptions for these additional brothers and sisters were found.

4. Not giving total inscription

- Also inscribe on it was Matthew

5. Charles Pellgrino co-author is not an archaeologist - Not an expert

- Two of the original archaeologists involved in the project, have openly on television and in the public forum repudiated the findings

- Lab was not told what they were testing, if told they would not have done test

Historical Evidence

Mt. 27:66, 28:4, 11-15

• The family was from Galilee

- Why would they have their family plot in Jerusalem?

• There was a broken Roman Seal.

- This meant an investigation,

- If proven it was automatic death for whoever did it

- They would not break the seal

- The disciples didn’t were in hiding.

• The Roman guard ran from the tomb. - This was a death penalty offense

- Death by being burned alive,

• The stone weighed 3,000-4,000 pounds

- It had to be moved uphill

- It was supposed to stay where it was put

- So who moved the stone?

Eye Witness Evidence

Acts 1:3 Jesus stayed in town for 40 days after He rose from the dead.

• 1 Cor 15:6 He appeared to more than 500 people in all kinds of places, times and circumstances.

• Lk 24:52 - There was an empty tomb, and the disciples started preaching about it right away in Jerusalem (where the resurrection happened).

- They risked their lives on one that was put to death by his enemies that lived there
