Last night I was listening to a Radio Program and they were talking about Marriage. In this discussion a woman was having issues with the way her husband was running the household. He was a little strict on the children and she was not. In return she would behind his back give to the kids what he did not approve of.
The host then pretty much ignored the question and focused on the part that they were both parents and rigged in what they believed in. He stated this is the problem. The problem is that there is 2 people in the house who refuse to bend and when that happens there is a problem. He then went to call the guy self righteous, etc.
Of course I thought that this opinion was very inaccurate and felt that he did not teach neither bring this woman to the truth.
Why is there probelms in marriage? Why is their quarrels? Wars? Fights? Rebellion and so forth?
The answer is found in identity. In the 21st century we have lost the meaning and the focus of marriage. The husband does not know how to act like a husband and the wife does not know how to act like a wife.
What I am about to say may seem to many as Male Shovanistic but I assure you people who think like that only do so because they were taught wrong.
So I believe as we approach the New Year we should bring these definitions to existance:
What is a wife:
1) A wife is to be the helper of the husband.
Genesis 2:18-25
2) She is to be the mother of the children.
Proverbs 14:1 Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.
3) She is to be the lover and companion of the husband.
1 Corinthians 7:3-5 Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband. (4) The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife. (5) Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.
4) She is to be submissive to the husband.
Ephesians 5:22-24 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. (23) For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. (24) Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
WHAT IS A WIFE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE:
1) She is not supposed to be the leader.
2) She is not supposed to be the priest of the household.
3) She is not to be rebellious or contentious.
Proverbs 25:24 It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman and in a wide house.

What is a husband:
1) A husband should be a provider and protector of his home.
1 Timothy 5:8 But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
2) He is to be the Father of the children.
Hebrews 12:9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
3) He is to cherish and encourage his wife.
Ephesians 5:25-28 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; (26) That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, (27) That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. (28) So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
4) He should be the priest and leader of his home.
1 Corinthians 11:1-3 Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. (2) Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you. (3) But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
WHAT IS A HUSBAND NOT SUPPOSED TO BE:
1) A lazy bum.
2) An Inconsiderate Fool.
