Sermons

Summary: This is the 3rd sermon in the series "3:16- Numbers That Bring Hope".

The other part of this that is very important for each of us to understand is that God wants your very best. God desired all of the fat because it was the very best and God desires the best from you. Now, I know what you are thinking. I know that you are saying, “Well, I’ll never be perfect”; but I’m here to tell you that is just an excuse. We should strive to live in the will of God and that starts by presenting yourself as a holy and pleasing sacrifice to God everyday.

There is hope in…

3. Fellowship with others.

In Leviticus 7, there is more information concerning the Peace Offering. After the blood and fat was given to the Lord, Aaron and his sons would get the breast, and the priest presenting the offering would get the right thigh. The rest of the meat from this offering was for the person giving the offering to eat. Now part of the catch was, if it was a Thanksgiving Peace Offering you had to eat it that day and if it was a Freewill Peace Offering it had to be eaten by the next day.

Even as much as some of us can eat, who can eat almost an entire cow in 1 day? This means that the person would invite whoever he wanted to share in this meal with him. For many people, they would never have enough wealth to own cattle, sheep, or goats. Unlike some of the other offerings, there was not an alternative offering for the poor. So, the only way they got to participate in a Peace Offering is by being invited by someone.

At times in my ministry, I have questioned why I bother. I spend almost all of my free time from my secular job doing Church things. I never accomplish everything I need to. I stay up late at nights praying and studying for Sunday School, sermons, and Wednesday Bible Study. I desperately want to see lives changed; but it seems that people don’t want to change. Now, I realize that God didn’t call me to give results, that’s His job; but I am saying that we as God’s children need fellowship. We need to be a part of worshipping and studying God’s Word together.

Christians, we need each other. We need to strengthen and encourage one another. We need to help one another mature in the faith.

Conclusion:

Are you giving God your best? Are you even attempting to give Him your best? Don’t give up. Resist the devil and the devil will run. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.
