VIII. MAIN BODY:
A. A Tabernacle was set up
"For a tabernacle (tent) was erected,"
Exodus 40:18-20 (Amplified Bible)
40:18 Moses set up the tabernacle, laid its sockets, set up its boards, put in its bars, and erected its pillars.
40:19 [Moses] spread the tent over the tabernacle and put the covering of the tent over it, as the Lord had commanded him.
40:20 He took the Testimony [the Ten Commandments] and put it into the ark, and set the poles [in the rings] on the ark, and put the mercy seat on top of the ark.
Exodus 39:32-34 (Amplified Bible)
39:32 Thus all the work of the tabernacle of the Tent of Meeting was finished; according to all that the Lord commanded Moses, so the Israelites had done.
39:33 And they brought the tabernacle to Moses: the tent and all its furnishings, its clasps, its [frame] boards, its bars, its pillars, its sockets or bases;
39:34 And the covering of rams’ skins made red, and the covering of dolphin or porpoise skins, and the veil of the screen;
Tabernacle is "skēnē" in Greek word, meaning tent, cloth, or habitation, used in the Old covenant for worship, it's just a tent with animal skin covering.
Hebrews 9:11 (Amplified Bible)
9:11 But [that appointed time came] when Christ (the Messiah) appeared as a High Priest of the better things that have come and are to come. [Then] through the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with [human] hands, that is, not a part of this material creation,
B. The Holy Place, the first room contains the lampstand, table, and the consecrated bread
"in the outer division or compartment of which were the lampstand and the table with [its loaves of] the showbread set forth. [This portion] is called the Holy Place"
The Holy Place has 3 things on it:
1. The Lampstand - it allows us to remember that we are the church and whenever we gather in JESUS' Name, JESUS is in our midst.
JESUS is in the midst of the candlestick for He is the light of this world.
Revelation 1:12-13 (Amplified Bible)
1:12 Then I turned to see [whose was] the voice that was speaking to me, and on turning I saw seven golden lampstands,
1:13 And in the midst of the lampstands [One] like a Son of Man, clothed with a robe which reached to His feet and with a girdle of gold about His breast.
In the New Covenant, churches are referred to as the candlestick and JESUS is in our midst.
Matthew 5:14-16 (Amplified Bible)
5:14 You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.
5:15 Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a peck measure, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house.
5:16 Let your light so shine before men that they may see your moral excellence and your praiseworthy, noble, and good deeds and recognize and honor and praise and glorify your Father Who is in heaven.
Matthew 18:19 (Amplified Bible)
18:19 Again I tell you, if two of you on earth agree (harmonize together, make a symphony together) about whatever [anything and everything] they may ask, it will come to pass and be done for them by My Father in heaven.
2. Table of shewbread - it allows us to remember JESUS offered both His body and His precious blood for our salvation, healing, justification and redemption from the powers of sin, death, devil, law, world, sicknesses and diseases.
