To acknowledge and marvel at the immeasurable greatness, power, and majesty of God, and to let this understanding inspire and strengthen our faith.
Good morning, my dear brothers and sisters in Christ. I hope this day finds you touched by the grace of our Lord. Today, I am excited to share with you a message that I believe will ignite your spirit and rejuvenate your faith. It’s a message about the unparalleled greatness of our Almighty God, a message about the omnipotence of our Lord of Lords, and a message about the incomparable majesty of our King of Kings.
In the words of the respected Christian author John Piper, "It is about the greatness of God, not the significance of man. God made man small and the universe big to say something about himself." We cannot fully comprehend the magnitude of His greatness and power, but we can acknowledge it, worship it, and allow it to strengthen our faith.
The unparalleled greatness of Almighty God is is a truth that transcends our human understanding and yet, it is a reality that we are invited to engage with daily.
A. The greatness of God is not just about His vastness, His omnipotence, or His majesty, but it is also about His intimate involvement in our lives. The Bible tells us in the book of Genesis that God spoke the world into existence. He said, "Let there be light," and there was light. He separated the waters from the dry land, created the plants, the animals, and finally, He created man in His own image. This account of creation is not just a story of how the world began, but it is a testament to the unparalleled greatness of God. He is a God who can create something out of nothing, a God who can bring order out of chaos, a God who can breathe life into dust.
B. But the greatness of God is not just seen in His creative power. It is also seen in His sustaining power. The book of Colossians tells us that in Him, all things hold together. Every star in the sky, every creature on the earth, every cell in our bodies, is sustained by the power of God. He is not just a distant deity who set the world in motion and then stepped back to watch it spin. He is a God who is intimately involved in the workings of the world, a God who holds all things together by the word of His power.
C. The greatness of God is also seen in His redemptive power. The Bible tells us that God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. This is the greatness of God's love, a love that would sacrifice everything for the sake of His creation. A love that would go to the greatest lengths to redeem and restore a broken world.
D. The unparalleled greatness of God is also seen in His sovereign power. The book of Daniel tells us that God sets up kings and deposes them, He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. He is a God who is in control of the affairs of the world, a God who is working out His purposes in history, a God who is guiding the course of nations and the destiny of individuals.
The Omnipotence of the Lord of Lords is the understanding that our God is all-powerful, that there is nothing beyond His control, and that His power is limitless ... View this full PRO sermon free with PRO
