Plan for: Thanksgiving | Advent | Christmas
This sermon explores the grandeur and greatness of God's gift, Jesus Christ, and the transformative power this gift brings to our lives.
Good morning, beloved family in Christ. I stand before you today with a heart brimming with gratitude and a message that has been stirring in my spirit. We gather here today, not as mere attendees or spectators, but as participants in the divine narrative that God is unfolding in our lives.
In our time together, we will ponder and reflect upon a passage from the book of Philippians, a letter written by the Apostle Paul, a man who was no stranger to the transformative power of God's grace. In his letter to the Philippians, Paul writes these profound words that we will be focusing on today:
"Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness." (Philippians 2:6-7)
Let us remember the words of Charles Spurgeon, who once said, "You cannot grow in grace to any high degree while you are conformed to the world. The life of separation may be a path of sorrow, but it is the highway of safety; and though it may cost you many cherished idols, you will be infinitely gainers by the loss."
Let us pray.
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ. As we reflect on Your Word today, open our hearts and minds to grasp the grandeur of Your gift. Help us to understand the greatness of Your gift and to embrace the transformation it brings in our lives. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
When we think about the grandeur of God's gift, we are drawn to the image of Jesus Christ. He is the embodiment of God's love, grace, and mercy. He is the ultimate expression of God's generosity and benevolence. He is the epitome of God's grandeur.
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was not just a gift to the world. He was a gift of such magnitude and significance that it is beyond human comprehension. He was God Himself, taking on human form, living among us, and ultimately sacrificing His life for our salvation. This is the grandeur of God's gift.
The grandeur of God's gift is not just in the person of Jesus Christ, but also in what His life, death, and resurrection represent. Through Jesus Christ, we have been given the gift of salvation, the promise of eternal life, and the assurance of God's unfailing love.
The grandeur of God's gift is also seen in the way it transforms our lives. When we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we are not just saved from our sins. We are also given a new life, a new identity, and a new purpose. We are transformed from being sinners to being children of God.
Now, let's look at the first aspect of this grandeur ... View this full PRO sermon free with PRO
