Plan for: Thanksgiving | Advent | Christmas
Emphasizes the importance of living out the Great Commission, urging believers to actively spread God's love and truth as ambassadors of His kingdom.
Good morning, beloved family of God. It's a joy to be standing here before you today, sharing in the warmth of fellowship and the radiant glow of God's love. There is a certain comfort in our togetherness, a certain peace that comes from knowing we are united in our faith and our love for our Savior.
Today, we are gathered here to delve into a topic of great significance, one that is at the very heart of our faith - The Great Commission. This is not just a set of instructions given by Jesus to his disciples, but a divine mandate for every believer. It is our calling, our purpose, and our mission.
As we look at the book of Matthew, chapter 28, verses 18-20, we find these words:
"Then Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.'"
These words, spoken by our Lord and Savior, are a clarion call to action. They are a reminder that we have been entrusted with a sacred task - to reclaim the lost, to reestablish righteous relationships, and to retain believers through reverence.
In the heart of the Great Commission lies a profound call to action - a call to reach out to those who have strayed from the path of righteousness and bring them back into the fold. This is not a task to be taken lightly. It requires dedication, compassion, and a deep understanding of the transformative power of God's love.
The nature of the lost: These are individuals who, for one reason or another, have drifted away from God's love. They may be people who have never known the love of Christ, or they may be those who once walked with Him but have since lost their way. Regardless of their past, the important thing is that they are now in a place of spiritual darkness, and it is our responsibility to bring them back into the light.
Our approach: It's not enough to simply tell these individuals that they need to change their ways. We need to show them the love of Christ in a tangible way. This means meeting them where they are, understanding their struggles, and offering them a helping hand. It's about showing them that there is a better way, a way that leads to peace, joy, and eternal life.
The importance of patience: Reclaiming the lost is not a task that can be accomplished overnight. It takes time, and it requires a great deal of patience. We need to be prepared for setbacks and disappointments, but we must never lose hope. We must remember that God's timing is perfect, and that He is working in ways that we may not always understand.
The role of prayer: Prayer is our most powerful tool in this endeavor. Through prayer, we can ask God to guide us, to give us the wisdom and strength we need to reach out to the lost. We can also pray for the lost themselves, asking God to open their hearts to His love and to lead them back to Him.
We are not alone: Christ Himself has promised to be with us always, even to the end of the age. With His help, we can reclaim the lost and fulfill the Great Commission.
As we continue to reflect on the Great Commission, we find ourselves drawn to the second part of this divine mandate - reestablishing righteous relationships ... View this full PRO sermon free with PRO
