The Gospel According To Moses
Contributed by Larry Brincefield on Nov 28, 2017 (message contributor)
Summary: A sermon about the 7 "I wills" of God in Exodus 6:1-8.
and our walk of faith in God...
with good reason...
As the Children of Israel were in bondage...
so are we...in bondage to sin...
God provided redemption for the Israelites...
and He provided for our redemption through Christ...
And God led them to a new home in the Promise Land...
and our Promise Land is in heaven!!!
Conclusion
1. That’s the Good News!!...
That’s the Gospel...
The Gospel found not only in the New Testament...
But right here in the writings of Moses...
Good News for the Children of Israel...
And that Good News was just the foreshadow of the Good News we have in Jesus Christ!
2. Fritz Kreisler (1875-1962), a world-famous violinist,...
earned a fortune with his concerts and compositions,...
but he generously gave most of it away.
So, when he discovered an exquisite violin on one of his trips,...
he wasn’t able to buy it.
Later, having raised enough money to meet the asking price,...
he returned to the seller, hoping to purchase the beautiful instrument.
But to his great dismay it had been sold to a collector.
Kreisler made his way to the new owner’s home and offered to buy the violin.
But The collector said it had become his prized possession and he would not sell it.
Greatly disappointed, Kreisler was about to leave when he asked...
"Could I play the instrument once more before it is consigned to silence?"
Permission was granted, and the great virtuoso filled the room with such heart-moving music that the collector’s emotions were deeply stirred.
He said, "I have no right to keep that to myself,...
It’s yours, Mr. Kreisler. Take it into the world, and let people hear it."2
3. One of the things that you will notice in the Bible...
is how important it was for the Children of Israel to pass on to their children all the stories about what God had done for them...
In fact, many of the Psalms are simply that...
songs about what God had done in leading them out of bondage...
into their new land...
When God does something as tremendous as He did for the Children of Israel...
well, they just naturally wanted to tell other people about it...
4. The same must be true for us as well...
God gloriously provided for our redemption through His Son Jesus...
He adopted us into His family...
and He is leading us to a new home!!...
We need to be like Kreisler...
we need to take that to the world...
we need to let people hear the Good News!!!
5. 7 Times...God says, “I will” in just 3 verses...
I trust that we can say it once...
as in, “I will share the Good News of what Jesus has done for me”...
