Explores prioritizing God's kingdom in our lives, facing life's difficulties, and living a fulfilled life through Christ's teachings.

Introduction

Good morning, church family! I'm so glad to see y'all here today, ready to open your hearts and minds to God's word. We're gonna have a chat today, a heart-to-heart conversation about our lives, our struggles, and how we can truly live the good life in Christ.

Before we get started, let's read the scripture that we'll be focusing on today. Matthew 6:33 says,

"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."

This verse, folks, is a powerful reminder of where our priorities should be. In our day to day lives, it's so easy to get caught up in our worries and struggles. We stress about our jobs, our families, our health... the list goes on and on. But Jesus tells us in this verse that we should be seeking God's kingdom first, before all else. And when we do that, everything else will fall into place.

Now, I want to share a quote with you from A.W. Tozer. He once said, "What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." That's a powerful statement, isn't it? It reminds us that our relationship with God, our understanding of Him, is at the heart of everything we do. It shapes our actions, our attitudes, our entire lives.

So today, we're gonna talk about how we can face life's difficulties, how we can live the good life in Christ, and how we can seek Him first in everything we do.

But before we start, let's bow our heads and pray together.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for bringing us together today. Open our hearts and minds to Your word, and help us to truly understand what it means to seek Your kingdom first. Guide our conversation today, Lord, and let it be a blessing to everyone here. We ask all this in Your precious name, amen.

Alright, folks. Let's get to it.

Facing Life's Difficulties

Life can be tough, there's no denying that. We all have our share of struggles and hardships. It's part of being human. But the good news is, we don't have to face these difficulties alone. We have a God who is always with us, always ready to help us through the tough times. Matthew 6:33 tells us to seek first God's kingdom and His righteousness. This means putting God first in our lives, making Him our top priority. But how does this relate to facing life's difficulties?

When we put God first, we're acknowledging that He is in control: We're admitting that we can't handle everything on our own, and we're turning to Him for help. This doesn't mean that our problems will magically disappear. But it does mean that we have a powerful ally on our side.

When we're going through a tough time: It's easy to feel overwhelmed. We might feel like we're drowning in our problems, like there's no way out. But when we seek God's kingdom first, we're reminded that there is a way out. God has a plan for us, a plan for good and not for harm. He can use even our toughest struggles for His glory.

Our struggles are not pointless: They're not just random events that happen to us. They're part of God's plan. This might be hard to believe, especially when we're in the middle of a tough situation. But the Bible assures us that God can use our struggles for good. Romans 8:28 tells us that "in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." So, even when we're facing difficulties, we can trust that God is working for our good. We can trust that He has a purpose for our struggles, even if we can't see it right now.

What does it mean to trust God in the midst of our struggles?: It means believing that He is in control, even when our circumstances seem out of control. It means relying on Him for strength, even when we feel weak. It means turning to Him for comfort, even when we're in pain. Trusting God in the midst of our struggles is not easy. It requires faith. It requires us to let go of our fears and doubts, and to cling to God's promises. But when we do this, we find a peace that surpasses all understanding. We find a hope that can't be shaken, even in the midst of our difficulties.

How we can seek God's kingdom in the midst of our struggles: This might seem like a daunting task, especially when we're overwhelmed by our problems. But it's not as complicated as it might seem. Seeking God's kingdom first means making Him our top priority. It means spending time with Him in prayer and reading His word. It means seeking His will in all that we do. When we're facing difficulties, it's easy to get caught up in our problems. We might be tempted to focus all our energy on trying to solve our problems on our own. But when we seek God's kingdom first, we're reminded that our problems are not the most important thing. God is.
