Summary: How God love me and you.
Title: The God Who Loved Me
Scripture: Romans 5:8 KJV:
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Introduction: The inspiration for this titled came from the 1977 James Bond movie entitled, "The Spy Who Loved Me." This James Bond movie has a complex story involving an outer-space shakedown. The leading lady is a sexy Russian secret agent Barbara Bach, who joins forces with James Bond to foil yet another self-centered villain, who had plans to threaten New York City with nuclear weapons.
Application: The 1st point is that he commended his love towards us. In the 21st Century of this statement saying that he showed love to us. He loved us what we was out there bad. J Moss put it like this, "You loved me through my good. You loved me through my bad. You didn't erase my future, because of my past. You loved me through my good and my past." We thank God that he loved us through the muck and miry. O love that will not let me go. I rest my weary soul in thee. I give thee back the life I owe. That in thine ocean depths its flow. May richer and fuller be.
The 2nd and final point is that Christ died for us. Not only Christ died for our sins, but he also died for our love that the father extended to us. When Jesus said, "Father unto thy hands, I commend my spirit." Love was immediately given to us. What was the father's love? I'm glad you asked. It is Jesus Christ, God's only begotten son, the one who fed over 5,000, healed the sick, raised the dead, and taught us about how to love the hopeless.
Conclusion: This is the God who loved you and me when we was a hot mess. The one who dried your tears, feed you when you was hungry, gave you clothes when you was naked, gave you money to pay your tithes and your bills, gave you peace in your mind when you was on a verge of a nervous breakdown, stayed your fist when you wanted to knock the hell out of somebody, glued your lips when you wanted to cuss somebody out, keep you safe while you was up and down the streets, heated you up in the winter, cooled you down in the summer, rocked you in the midnight hour, helped you when you was confused, and didn't let you kill yourself because he said that you have a great calling on your life. If you want to know the God who loved you and me, come and give him your life today. He has his arms extended to you today. God loved you so much that he gave his only son for you to be saved. Jesus was born in Bethlehem in a barn, called to the ministry at the age of 30, died at the age of 33, rosed from the dead, seated at the right hand of God, and he is coming back for you and me again. Know the God who love me and he will love you too.
