INTRODUCTION:
Boldness is not arrogance; it is divine confidence birthed by the presence and power of God. A believer empowered by God becomes fearless in the face of adversity, unshaken by the threats of men or the storms of life. The lion is often seen as the king of beasts, and its boldness represents spiritual courage and dominion. When God imparts the boldness of a lion to His people, they operate with divine authority and refuse to retreat in the face of challenges.
In Scripture, every man and woman used mightily by God possessed a form of holy boldness. Moses confronted Pharaoh, David faced Goliath, Esther approached the king, Daniel stood firm in Babylon, and the apostles declared Christ fearlessly. This boldness was not natural, it was divine.
The God who gives the lion’s boldness equips His people to advance His kingdom with courage, to silence the voice of intimidation, and to stand firm in righteousness. He transforms timidity into triumph and hesitation into holy conviction.
1. GOD IS THE SOURCE OF TRUE BOLDNESS
Boldness is not generated by human strength or confidence; it is imparted by the Spirit of God.
a) Boldness is a product of divine righteousness (Proverbs 28:1)
The righteous are bold because they stand under divine approval. Guilt and fear flee in the presence of righteousness.
b) The Holy Spirit empowers believers for fearless living (Acts 4:31)
When the Spirit fills a man, he becomes unstoppable and unshakable.
c) God’s presence drives out fear (Psalm 27:1)
Those who walk with God cannot be intimidated by circumstances or enemies.
d) Faith in God is the foundation of boldness (Hebrews 11:33-34)
Faith transforms weakness into courage and makes ordinary people extraordinary.
Biblical Example: Peter, who once denied Jesus out of fear, became fearless after being filled with the Holy Spirit. He boldly preached Christ to multitudes, even under threat (Acts 4:13-20).
2. BOLDNESS IS REQUIRED TO POSSESS YOUR INHERITANCE
Without courage, divine promises remain unclaimed. Boldness is the key that unlocks destiny.
a) God commands His people to be strong and courageous (Joshua 1:6-9)
The journey to Canaan required determination, not fear.
b) Boldness activates divine help (2 Chronicles 32:7-8)
When you stand firm in faith, Heaven stands with you.
c) Fear paralyses destiny (Numbers 13:31-33)
The ten spies lost their inheritance because they lacked the boldness to believe God.
d) Bold faith provokes divine reward (Hebrews 10:35-36)
Confidence in God ensures that your efforts are not in vain.
Biblical Example: Caleb demonstrated lionlike courage at 85 years old when he said, “Give me this mountain!” (Joshua 14:12). His boldness brought fulfilment of promise.
3. BOLDNESS ENABLES YOU TO CONFRONT THE ENEMY FEARLESSLY
When God fills you with lion’s boldness, you face opposition with confidence in His power.
a) Spiritual boldness silences the adversary (Philippians 1:28)
The enemy loses courage when believers refuse to fear.
b) God gives His people the spirit of power, love, and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7)
Fear is a spirit; it must be confronted and cast out through divine power.
c) Boldness comes from knowing who you are in Christ (1 John 4:4)
You are more than a conqueror, equipped to triumph in every battle.
d) Holy boldness releases divine authority (Luke 10:19)
God has given you power to tread upon serpents and scorpions—walk in that authority!
Biblical Example: David faced Goliath without armour or fear, trusting in the name of the Lord. His boldness turned an impossible battle into a legendary victory (1 Samuel 17:45-50).
4. BOLDNESS IS THE VOICE OF FAITH AND TESTIMONY
True faith expresses itself through bold confession and fearless testimony of God’s power.
a) Boldness gives power to your words (Acts 4:29)
When you speak with divine confidence, your words carry heavenly authority.
b) The bold declaration of faith brings miracles (Mark 11:23-24)
Speaking what you believe activates the supernatural.
c) Your testimony strengthens others (Revelation 12:11)
Bold witnesses shake the kingdom of darkness and glorify God.
d) Fearless worship and confession bring victory (Psalm 34:1-4)
When you boldly praise God, fear and oppression lose their grip.
Biblical Example: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego boldly declared their loyalty to God before King Nebuchadnezzar. Their fearless faith brought divine deliverance (Daniel 3:16-28).
CONCLUSION:
The God who gives you a lion’s boldness does so to make you fearless in purpose and unshaken in faith. He equips you to face life’s battles with spiritual authority and confidence in His promises. When His Spirit fills you, timidity disappears, and you become unstoppable in fulfilling divine assignments.
