THE GOD OF DELIVERANCE

INTRODUCTION:

God is a deliverer who rescues His people from bondage, oppression, and trouble. Throughout the Scriptures, He has demonstrated His power in delivering those who trust in Him. Whether it is from sin, enemies, danger, or affliction, the Lord is always ready to set His people free. In this sermon, we will delve into different aspects of God’s deliverance and how we can experience His saving power.

1. GOD DELIVERS FROM THE BONDAGE OF SIN

Sin enslaves, but God’s power sets us free.

a) Sin Brings Spiritual Bondage – Whoever commits sin becomes a slave to it (John 8:34).

b) Jesus Came to Set Us Free – He came to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8).

c) Deliverance Comes Through the Blood of Jesus – His blood cleanses us (Revelation 1:5).

d) True Freedom Is in Christ – If the Son sets you free, you are free indeed (John 8:36).

e) Biblical Example:

Paul (Acts 9:1-18) – God delivered him from a life of sin and transformed him into a vessel of honour.

2. GOD DELIVERS FROM ENEMIES AND OPPRESSORS

No matter how strong the enemy is, God is stronger.

a) God Fights for His People – He is the mighty man of war (Exodus 15:3).

b) The Battle Belongs to the Lord – Victory is not by human strength (1 Samuel 17:47).

c) God Brings Down Strongholds – No power can stand against Him (2 Corinthians 10:4).

d) God Rescues from Hidden Traps – He delivers from the snare of the fowler (Psalm 91:3).

e) Biblical Example:

The Israelites (Exodus 14:13-31) – God delivered them from Pharaoh and the Red Sea.

3. GOD DELIVERS FROM AFFLICTION AND SICKNESS

There is no sickness or affliction that God cannot heal.

a) God Is the Great Healer – He heals all diseases (Exodus 15:26).

b) Jesus Took Our Infirmities – By His stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5).

c) God Delivers from Oppression – No affliction is greater than His power (Psalm 107:19-20).

d) God Breaks Every Yoke of Suffering – He is the burden remover (Isaiah 10:27).

e) Biblical Example:

The Woman with the Issue of Blood (Mark 5:25-34) – Jesus delivered her after twelve years of suffering.

4. GOD DELIVERS FROM DANGER AND DESTRUCTION

Even in the face of life-threatening situations, God rescues His own.

a) God Preserves His People – No weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

b) God Sends His Angels for Protection – He gives His angels charge over us (Psalm 91:11-12).

c) God Saves from Natural Disasters – He speaks peace to storms (Mark 4:39).

d) God Turns Evil Plans Around – He delivers from conspiracies (Daniel 6:22).

e) Biblical Example:

Daniel (Daniel 6:16-23) – God delivered him from the lion’s den.

5. GOD DELIVERS FROM FEAR AND ANXIETY

Fear is a tool of the enemy, but God sets us free from it.

a) Fear Is Not from God – He gives us power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).

b) God’s Perfect Love Casts Out Fear – His love assures us (1 John 4:18).

c) We Are More Than Conquerors – In Christ, we have victory (Romans 8:37).

d) God Replaces Fear with Peace – His peace surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

e) Biblical Example:

The Disciples in the Storm (Mark 4:35-41) – Jesus calmed the storm and removed their fear.

CONCLUSION:

God is our mighty deliverer. Whether it is from sin, enemies, sickness, danger, or fear, He is more than able to set us free. All we need to do is trust Him and call upon His name. No matter what you are going through, the God of deliverance will come through for you.

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Father, thank You for being my deliverer.

2. Lord, deliver me from every bondage of sin.

3. Father, arise and fight my battles for me.

4. Lord, deliver me from every form of oppression.

5. Father, heal me from every sickness and affliction.

6. Lord, protect me from danger and destruction.

7. Father, break every yoke of fear and anxiety in my life.

8. Lord, send Your angels to watch over me and my family.

9. Father, turn every evil plan against me into my victory.

10. Lord, let me walk daily in the freedom of Your deliverance.
