THE GOD OF BEGINNINGS

INTRODUCTION

Every significant story in Scripture begins with God. Before creation, before calling, before covenant—God was already present. Genesis opens not with chaos, but with God stepping into chaos to establish order.

When life feels empty, broken, or uncertain, we must remember that God does His greatest works at beginnings. He does not merely repair endings, He creates new beginnings.

Wherever God steps in, a new chapter is born.

1. GOD INITIATES DIVINE PURPOSE

Before man acts, God initiates. Destiny begins with Him.

a) Creation Began with God’s Word (Genesis 1:3)

Darkness was present, but God spoke light into existence, demonstrating that divine beginnings are activated by His word, not by favorable conditions.

b) Calling Begins with Divine Selection

Abraham did not search for destiny; God called him out of obscurity into covenant promise.

c) Salvation Begins with Grace

Redemption was not man’s idea, it was God’s initiative of love toward humanity.

d) Vision Is God-Inspired

Every genuine assignment starts as a divine burden planted in the heart by God Himself.

Biblical Example: Moses’ journey began when God appeared in the burning bush, turning an ordinary shepherd into a deliverer (Exodus 3:2-10).

2. GOD RESTORES BROKEN BEGINNINGS

God is not only the Author of beginnings; He is the Restorer of them.

a) He Makes All Things New (Revelation 21:5)

God does not merely improve the old; He creates something entirely new.

b) Mercy Renews Daily (Lamentations 3:22-23)

Every morning carries the possibility of divine reset through His unfailing compassion.

c) Past Failures Do Not Limit Future Grace

Peter denied Jesus, yet was restored and empowered to lead the early church.

d) God Rewrites Stories

What looks like an ending to man becomes a fresh start in God’s hands.

Biblical Example: Naomi returned to Bethlehem empty, but God turned her mourning into generational blessing through Ruth (Ruth 1–4).

3. GOD SUSTAINS WHAT HE STARTS

The God of beginnings is also the God of completion.

a) He Finishes What He Begins (Philippians 1:6)

What God initiates, He sustains until fulfillment.

b) Divine Patience in Process

Beginnings often look small, but God nurtures them into greatness.

c) Seasons Do Not Cancel Purpose

Delay does not equal denial; God’s timing protects His promise.

d) Faith Secures Continuity

Trusting God ensures that beginnings mature into fulfillment.

Biblical Example: Joseph’s dreams began in obscurity, but God sustained the vision until it manifested in leadership and preservation (Genesis 37–41).

4. GOD CREATES NEW SEASONS BEYOND THE OLD

God invites His people to step into fresh dimensions.

a) Forgetting Former Things (Isaiah 43:18-19)

Clinging to yesterday can hinder the arrival of tomorrow’s promise.

b) New Things Require New Faith

Spiritual growth demands openness to divine movement.

c) Divine Shift Breaks Stagnation

When God begins something new, limitations are overturned.

d) Obedience Activates the New

Responding to God’s instruction allows new seasons to unfold.

Biblical Example: The Day of Pentecost marked a new dispensation, empowering the church with fresh fire and global impact (Acts 2:1-4).

CONCLUSION

The God of Beginnings stands outside time, yet steps into human history to start something fresh. He brings light into darkness, hope into despair, and purpose into confusion.

No matter how your year, season, or journey began, God is able to initiate something new today. He is the Alpha, the Beginning and in Him every ending can become a doorway to greater glory.

1. Father, begin a new work in my life in Jesus name.

2. Lord, speak light into every dark area of my destiny in Jesus name.

3. Father, restore every broken beginning in my journey in Jesus name.

4. Lord, renew Your mercies over my life daily in Jesus name.

5. Father, give me grace to embrace new seasons in Jesus name.

6. Lord, complete every good work You have started in me in Jesus name.

7. Father, remove fear of the unknown from my heart in Jesus name.

8. Lord, align my life with Your divine purpose in Jesus name.

9. Father, transform every setback into a setup for new beginnings in Jesus name.

10. Lord, let this season mark the start of greater glory in Jesus name.
