Explores the profound love, hope, peace, and joy brought into our lives through the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Good morning, family! It's a joy to be here with you today, sharing in the love and fellowship that is so unique to our community. We're gathered here today to talk about something truly special, something that has the power to touch all of our lives in a deeply personal way.
Before we get started, let's take a look at the scripture passage we'll be focusing on today. It comes from Luke 2:1-21.
Isn't that an incredible passage? The birth of Jesus, the arrival of our Savior, the joy and hope that His coming brought into the world.
I'm reminded of a quote from Malcolm Muggeridge who once said, "The coming of Jesus into the world is the most stupendous event in human history." It’s a simple but powerful reminder of the significance of what we're talking about today.
So, let's take a moment to prepare our hearts with a word of prayer.
Dear Heavenly Father, we're so grateful for this time together, for the opportunity to reflect on the greatest gift of love ever given. As we talk about the birth of our Savior, fill our hearts with the hope, peace, and joy that His love brings. Help us to understand these truths in a deeper way, and let them change us from the inside out. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus. Amen.
Alright, are we ready to get into it? Let's go!
When we think about love, we often think about it in terms of human relationships. We think about the love between a parent and a child, the love between friends, or the love between spouses. These are all beautiful examples of love, but they pale in comparison to the love that God showed us through the birth of Jesus Christ.
Not like human love: It's not limited or conditional. It doesn't depend on our actions or our worthiness. God's love is unconditional, limitless, and eternal. It's a love that was willing to give up everything, even His own Son, for our sake.
The birth of Jesus Christ: This is a perfect demonstration of this love. God didn't send His Son into the world as a king or a warrior, but as a humble baby, born in a stable, surrounded by animals. This was not a birth befitting a king, but it was a birth that showed the depth of God's love for us.
God could have chosen any way to save us: He chose the way of love. He chose to send His Son, to live among us, to experience our joys and our sorrows, our victories and our defeats. He chose to send His Son to die for us, so that we could have eternal life. This is the greatest gift of love ever given.
Now, let's take a closer look at the birth of Jesus and what it tells us about God's love.
The arrival of the Savior is announced: It’s not to the powerful and influential, but to shepherds, individuals often overlooked and marginalized in their society ... View this full PRO sermon free with PRO
