QUESTION:- What do we worship?
“It’s easy:
You simply follow the trail of your time, your affection,
your energy, your money, and your allegiance.
At the end of that trail you’ll find a throne; and whatever, or whoever, is on that throne iswhat’s of highest value to you.
On that throne is what you worship.”.......Louie Giglio

Extravagant Giving
Luke 6:38 (AV) — 38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
Cross Reference
Galatians 6:7 (AV) — 7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
Here is a illustration of the purchase of grain. A generous seller not only fills the measuring container for the customer, but then presses down the grain and shakes the container to make room for even more. The then tops it off until it overflows into the customer’s lap
Pay It Forward - Lk. 6:38.
Give and it shall be given:
Trust me
You give and I will take care of the rest
You will never be disappointed
God is a generous, compassionate
Good measure.
I shall give you a true full measure.
Pressed down.
As a wine press might press grapes, and thus many more might be put into the measure.
Shaken together.
To make it more compact, and thus to give more.
Running over.
To overflow.- More than enough
Into your bosom:
More than you can imagine
"Bosom" (kolpos) - The folds of the garment at the waist, which could serve as a large pocket for grain. making the bosom or front part of their garments large, so that articles could be carried in them, bigger than a pockets. Like adding a waist pack but only bigger
SEE - Isaiah 40:11 (AV)
— 11 He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.
The same measure:-
- Proportional to your giving
1. When you give, God gives back to you
2. God uses the same measure you use!
- Put it another way …
- If you are stingy, God will be stingy in return!
- If you are generous, God will be generous in return!
- Watering plants
- A little water will keep it alive
- Plenty of water will make it thrive
2 Corinthians 9:6–7 (AV)
— 6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. 7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
