Summary: THIS STUDY ADDRESSES THE CURE FOR LONLINESS.

THE CURE FOR THE “DEAD DOG” SYNDROME

OBSERVATION: THIS TEACHING ADDRESSES LONELINESS. THERE IS A DISTINCTION BETWEEN BEING ALONE AND BEING LONELY. LONELINESS IS NOT BASED ON GENDER. SOME CAN BE ALONE FOR DAYS AND ENJOY IT. SOME CANNOT! THERE IS A CURE FOR TRUE LONELINESS!

SPIRITUAL INSIGHT: READ SECOND SAMUEL 9: 1-8. KING DAVID SHOWED KINDNESS TO THE HOUSEHOLD OF SAUL. HE ASKED A SERVANT IF ANY RELATIVES REMAINED ALIVE. THE SERVANT IDENTIFIED MEPHIBOSHETH, A SON OF JONATHAN AND GRANDSON OF SAUL. HE LIVED IN A LONELY COMMUNITY NAME LODE BAR (PASTURE LESS). DAVID GRACIOUSLY RECEIVED MEPHIBOSHETH INTO HIS PALACE. MEPHIBOSHETH WAS ISOLATE, FORSAKEN, HORRIBLY CRIPPLED AND ALMOST HOPELESS.

THOUGHTS TO PONDER:

WHEN SOMEONE STATES HE IS A “DEAD DOG”, OBVIOUSLY SOMETHING IS AMISS IN HIS LIFE. THIS CALLS FOR A CURE!

PSALMS 40:17 (NKJV) BUT I AM POOR AND NEEDY; YET THE LORD THINKS UPON ME. YOU ARE MY HELP AND MY DELIVERER; DO NOT DELAY, O MY GOD.

JOHN 14:18 (NKJV) I WILL NOT LEAVE YOU ORPHANS; I WILL COME TO YOU.

APPLICATION: YOUR BEST FRIEND, JESUS CHRIST, IS YOUR DELIVERER FROM LONELINESS!
