THE CONVERTED LIFE
Acts 9:1-30
July 12, 2009 Sun a.m.
Introduction:
Here we see the life of Saul as a reflection of a natural man without a Savior (v.5), a life without love for the brethren (v.1-2; 1 John 3:10), and a life that is not right with God (v.4-5). Now, when Saul encountered the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior, he become Paul the new creatue in Christ. We can see in him some evidences of a man who is genuinely converted unto the Lord. Many are saved but not converted. Let us take a look of the converted life of Paul:
I- LIFE OF DOING—v.6 (not the life that do nothing)
a. Paul is Interested—v.6 “what wilt thou have me to do?”
b. Paul is Instructed—v.6 “Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do”
c. Paul’s Initiative—v.20 “And straightway”
(motivated only by the love of Christ-II Corinthians 5:14) Paul was filled by the Holy Ghost—v.17
II- LIFE OF DIVIDENDS
a. Receiver of God’s blessings—v.18-19,22 (We are God’s by creation & redemption)
b. Reaching others with the Privilege to preach Christ—v.20, 22
c. Reverse of the Old ways of life—v.21 (from persecutor to a preacher); 1 Timothy 1:13, 15
III- LIFE OF DEDICATION
a. In spite of Dangers--v. 23-24, 29,16
b. Inspired by the Disciples--v.25-26, 30
c. Involved in Church Edification--v.31
