The Blood Of Christ
Robert A. Glass
What more precious thing could there ever be than The Blood of Christ? Shed for remission of our sins. (Mt 26:28) For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
1. We had sins. (Rom.3:23) For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
2. We were alienated. (Col 1:21) And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
3. We were lost. (Matt 18:11- Luke 19:10) For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
The Blood of Christ should be precious to us because it is Holy. (Heb 9:24-25) For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:
Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood; Christ entered it ONCE, For ALL time.
Jesus agonized over crucifixion. His most earnest prayers were related to the cross. (Lu 22:44) And being in agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground. (Matt 26:39) And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
Jesus prayed. Oh My father.
Jesus prayed. If it be possible
Jesus prayed. Let this cup pass
Jesus prayed. Not my will
Jesus prayed. As thou wilt.
BUT! Because of the blood of Christ, we have redemption, forgiveness of sins and are made nigh unto God. (Col 1:14) In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: (Eph 1:7) In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; (Eph 2:13) But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
Under the Old Law, every year, the High Priest entered the Holy of Holies to make a sacrifice for the sins of man. Christ was sacrificed once and shed his blood for the sins of ALL mankind and for all time. (Heb 10:4) For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. (Heb 10:10) By the which we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Jesus is the Ultimate Sacrifice for sin. Not a yearly sacrifice, but an eternal sacrifice for sin. Not an empty sacrifice, a perfect sacrifice for sin. (1 Peter 1:19) But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
The lamb offering had to be a perfect lamb. Not a sick lamb or a blind or maim lamb, NOT even a spotted lamb. Jesus was our perfect Lamb and The Blood of Christ was shed in our stead, on our behalf.
God Gave His Son. (John 3:16) ïõôùò ãáñ çãáðçóåí ï èåïò ôïí êïóìïí ùóôå ôïí õéïí áõôïõ ôïí ìïíïãåíç åäùêåí éíá ðáò ï ðéóôåõùí åéò áõôïí ìç áðïëçôáé áëë å÷ç æùçí áéùíéïí
Christ gave His Blood. What if we deny the Blood of Christ? Turn away from the Cross? Turn our backs on God? (Heb 10:29) Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
REMEMBER: (2 John 1:9) Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
The Blood of Christ provides us a propitiation for sins. (Romans 3:25) Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
Because of the Blood of Christ, we can overcome. (Rev 12:11) And they overcame him (Satan) by the blood of the Lamb, Satan cannot prevail against the Blood of Christ.
Remember, (Eph 1:7) In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
The Blood of Christ was essential for the remission of sins. (Heb 9:22) all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
Jesus came to this sin cursed world, bringing Hope, and Salvation and life. Jesus Died For You, Will You LIVE for Him?
