The Amazingly Awesome Power of Jews
I have to confess that growing up I often heard not so flattering songs and phrases about Jewish people. I did have a friend in school that was Jewish and he e asked my mother if I could take Hebrew lessons with him. She didn’t see the value of a Methodist taking Hebrew lessons so she said no. Oh, how I wish she would have said yes and I would have stuck with them. What an asset to my ministry that would have been today!!!!
Over the last few years, I have had several folks ask if I were Jewish. My family has always been right friendly and maybe there are some in the tree somewhere but none in the recent branches that I am aware of anyway. I would be thrilled if I did have some Jewish blood in me but I will have to be content to be in the bloodline of Adam and Noah for sure and by the grace of God the bloodline of Christ. Only by the grafting in of the Gentiles/Goyim am I a child of Father Abraham.
I never really thought about how many Jews there are in the world. I only found out recently and frankly there are far fewer than I imagined. There are only 13 million Jews in a world that is rapidly approaching 7 billion strong. That is basically less then one fourth of a percent of the total population and only a little over twice as many as Hitler killed just 61 years ago. I guess that is a pretty good reproductive and longevity statistic but still a drop in the human ocean.
Yet, Jews are a clear sign and proof of the existence of God. The Bible says that Abraham was chosen to start this people group. From almost the very beginning of the tribe up to this day everyone else in the world has tried to wipe them off the face of the planet. Every nation or government that tried has disappeared or been radically changed and normally after great despair and destruction. If I were an Arab I would look at such a clear demarcation between those who have blessed and those who have cursed Israel and change my opinion and policy toward them. America needs to be careful as well since there has been an increase in Anti-Semitism here as well.
Since I became a Christian in 1975 and interested in the history of the Jews as given in the Scripture I have also seen and heard some really crazy things about Jews. It has been claimed that they control most of the money and influence governments to the point of them being behind the one-world government, etc. Man. that is an awful lot of amazing power for such a small group of people! Shoot, if they are that wise to be able to do all that maybe they deserve that power as it appears the bulk of us are not smart enough to achieve it. Think about how much of the world’s affairs focus on such a small country as Israel and that small fraction of the earth’s population. That is power!
I have heard of those who profess to be Christians hating Jews. That has to be one of the most thoroughly ignorant things that I have ever heard of in my life. How in the name of all that is holy can you look to Jesus Christ as the Son of God and your Saviour and then hate what He is? He came as a Jew to the Jews and we Gentiles only got in because they, as a nation, rejected Him. The Gospel, contrary to the Pope and men like John Hagee, is to the Jews FIRST and then to the Greek.
To say that you love Christ and hate Jews is like telling your sweetheart that she is the most beautiful and intelligent person on the planet but all the rest of her kinfolk are the ugliest and dumbest people you have ever seen. Do that and I don’t think she will be your sweetheart for long. Outside of true Christians, a believer should love the Jews more than anyone else on the planet out of sheer gratitude!
Does that mean that because they are the Chosen People that all of them are going to Heaven? Sadly, no.
Matt 8:11-12
11 And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.
12 But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. (KJV)
The Jews are the rightful heirs of the kingdom and thus the children of the kingdom but many will not make it in.
