Summary: Illustration: Commitments each member needs to make for the new year.

Pastor’s Message

“We will not forsake the house of our God” (Neh. 10:39).

“Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as you can” (John Wesley).

We all make commitments. They may be on a lease or contract, but we all make them and we must not take them lightly. Listen to what God says about our commitments: “If a man vows a vow unto the Lord, or swears an oath to bind himself by some agreement, he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth (Num. 30:2). And “When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to ;pay it, for He hath no pleasure in fools” (Ecc. 5:4). Commitments are serious business.

Today, January 1, 2010, I ask each of you to read and sign The ABC’s of Commitment. I believe if we let the “words become flesh and dwell among us,” we shall experience the greatest year of blessings, harvests and breakthroughs since the inception of Caribbean United Church.
