TEKEL? CAN WE READ THE HANDWRITING ON THE WALL?

WHEN I AM IN THE HOLE OF DARKNESS?

By Wade Martin Hughes, Sr. Kyfingers@aol.com

I take a scale and lay it before the altar?

THE WEIGH IN ALWAYS OCCURS BEFORE THE FIGHT.

WHAT SHALL WE DO WITH THIS HOLE IN MY HEART?

Matthew 12:44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.

There is a sign upon our hearts that says EMPTY, VACANT, LONELY, HOPELESS?

I HAVE FOUND IN LIFE THAT EVERY PERSON HAS A HOLE IN THEIR HEART.

There is some kind of VOID: There seems to be a lacking, vainness, times of seemingly uselessness.

We need to fill that VOID and feeling of hollowness…

Our need to fill this hole can lead us on vain searches? We find that void or emptiness of loneliness is searching for something to fill that place and make us feel full, complete, whole, SO WE SEARCH IN PEOPLE? MONEY? OVERTIME? POSSESSIONS? MATERIALISM? RELIGION? GOOD DEEDS?

CHANGE IS COMING… TEKEL

THE PARTY IS OVER… The King had thrown one of the biggest parties ever known?

THERE WAS A HAND WRITING A FEW WORDS… MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN…

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

THE KING KNEW SOMETHING BEFORE HE KNEW SOMETHING?

THE PARTY IS OVER… IN REALITY FEAR TAKES OVER AND REIGNS

The gods of wine, women, sex, silver and gold will always LET YOU DOWN, into HELL?

Daniel 5:5 In the same hour came forth fingers of a man's hand, and wrote over against the candlestick upon the plaister of the wall of the king's palace: and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote. 6 Then the king's countenance was changed, and his thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of his loins were loosed, and his knees smote one against another.

Daniel 5:23 But hast lifted up thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified:

YOU, YOUR PARTY, YOUR DEEDS, YOUR WORDS WILL GO ON THE SCALES OF TIME AND ETERNITY!

Daniel 5:27 TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.

YOU HAVE BEEN FOUND WANTING? LACKING? EVIDENCE? NOT WHAT IS NEEDED? NOT UP TO EXPECTATIONS? NO AT THE RIGHT PLACE?

JACK HIGGINS WROTE: THE EAGLE HAS LANDED. He said that he had learned one thing that he had wished he had learned when he was a boy: “WHEN YOU GET TO THE TOP, THERE IS NOTHING THERE.”

WHAT IS THE COST? WHAT IF WE EVER ADDED IT ALL UP?

WHAT DO YOU GET FOR WORKING YOUR FINGERS TO THE BONE? BONEY FINGERS!

WHAT IS THERE TO SHOW FOR A LIFE TIME OF WORK?

Linda won tickets to Beach Bend Race Track for the Hot Rod show. I so love old cars. Many bring back memories from yesteryear.

I walked among the dragsters and was amazed, the work spaces looked like surgery rooms. The engines were $50 to $60 K. At the end of 7 seconds the race was over. 7 seconds? I talked to a man and his wife from Muncy, Indiana. I asked him how much money do you have invested in this? He told me if you ever added it all up you would quit. Not only was there the car, but the huge fancy trailer, then the tools. Then the upgraded truck to pull the equipment. His wife said the paint job was thousands of dollars. Rebuilt the engine after two or three runs? Then the expenses of fuel, meals, and gas. He runs 6 to 7 times a year? His wife said at least $300,000 just in equipment?

Then she added we go for long periods of time without a win. I really enjoyed the discussion with them. I walked away and thought and returned to ask one more question? I said I did not want to be nosey but did they ever make money on any weekend? The man replied: IF WE EVER MAKE ENOUUGH TO COVER OUR EXPENSES FOR THAT WEEKEND, WE COUNT IT A GREAT SUCCESS?

A half a million dollars invested and success is to break even on the expenses for that weekend?

(Note: the big money goes to those that attract the big companies’ sponsorships.) All he was doing

Was for the love of the run?

I consider the words of a smart man? SMOKE, NOTHING BUT SMOKE?
