SUPER HERO

How many of you remember the introduction to the first superman show? He can leap tall buildings in a single bound, he’s faster than a speeding bullet, and stronger than a locomotive.

There’s spider man, batman, wonder woman, and the green hornet. What do they have in common? Well they are all doers of good and combatants of evil, and most of them have supernatural powers.

Harrison sings a song that says; some like superman, some like bat man, some like spider man, but I love the Son of Man. Harrison, I want to thank you for sharing your little song with me,

Because it reminds us that in these times of television, movies, and such great animation that these characters are fictional, and we have a real, true Super Hero to look up to.

And He is called; the Lord of Lords(I Tim.6:15),the Rock

(I Cor.10:4) the Master(Mat.8:19), the Almighty(Rev.1:8),the Alpha, and the Omega.

He is Jesus the Christ, the King of Kings, the Super Hero of all super heroes. The miracles He performed during His ministry surpasses the feats of all of these super fictional heroes.

Jesus performed many supernatural acts, a lot of them for the benefit of man, so that we would believe that he was the Mesiah, some were to fulfill prophecy, and all of them glorified God.

Here are just a few miracles in the adventures of Jesus Christ; at a wedding in Cana of Galilee, the mother of Jesus was there. both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding. And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.

Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet come.” His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.” Now there were set there six water pots of stone, according to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece.

Jesus said to them, “Fill the water pots with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. And He said to them, “Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.” And they took it. When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made into wine, he did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew),

See He turned water into wine, and we are not talking about a cup or a bottle full, this was somewhere around 150 gallons, there were 6 vessles that held 20 or 30 gallons each.

Jesus healed Peter’s mother-in-law in Mat.8:14-15, Mark 1:29-31, and Luke 4:38. Listen to Mathews account of this event;

Now when Jesus had come into Peter’s house, He saw his wife’s mother lying sick with a fever. So He touched her hand, and the fever left her. He touched her hand, and the fever left her, then she got up and began to serve Him.

Jesus has a supernatural ability to heal the sick. Later on that evening they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying:

“ He Himself took our infirmities

And bore our sicknesses.”

Then He got into a boat, His disciples followed Him. And suddenly a great storm arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep. Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!”

But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. So the men marveled, saying, “Who can this be, that even the winds and the waves obey.

He has power over nature, He calmed the stormy sea, and not only did Jesus calm the sea, He calmed the fear in the hearts of the disciples who were in the boat.

And He has the power to calm the storms in our lives as well, when we rely on Him in all situations he will smooth out our trials and tribulations, and there will be a calming in our hearts and lives, that only He can instill.

Just after John the Baptist was beheaded, his disciples buried his body. Then they went and told Jesus. When Jesus heard what had happened, he withdrew by boat privately to a solitary place.

Hearing of this, the crowds followed him on foot from the towns. When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick. As evening approached the disciples came to him and said,
