Success At En-Hakkore

Summary: God is able to surprise you with more than you require at any time
With a donkey’s jawbone, I killed an entire company.
17 When he finished speaking, he threw away the jawbone. He named that place Ramath Lehi (Jawbone Hill).
18-19 Now he was suddenly very thirsty. He called out to God, “You have given your servant this great victory. Are you going to abandon me to die of thirst and fall into the hands of the uncircumcised?” So God split open the rock basin in Lehi; water gushed out and Samson drank. His spirit revived—he was alive again! That’s why it’s called En Hakkore (Caller’s Spring). It’s still there at Lehi today.
20 Samson judged Israel for twenty years in the days of the Philistines.
Samson, the defender of the Israelites for 20 years was forced to go into battle again. He had gone to see his Philistine wife and her father annoyed him by giving her out to someone else. He burnt their farms and fields and of course a fight ensued. In the fight he used jawbone to kill 1000 of his people’s enemies, but after such a feat, after he had vectored and overcome. He became very thirsty. I mean you can imagine how much sweat he must have lost killing 1000 warriors. Very much like Jackie Chan.
So here was one very thirsty Israeli warrior and there was no water anywhere to assuage his thirst. What did this fellow do. Despite his moral failings and impulsive nature, he decided to pray to God.
Many of us are like Samson in a way. We have fought all kinds of spiritual battles and we have won some.
But at the end of it all, there is still no sign of what to drink, what to eat, spiritually and physically.
The stubborn womanizer who was completely tactless and without guile, still remembered to entreat God. He called out to God, “You have given your servant this great victory. Are you going to abandon me to die of thirst and fall into the hands of the uncircumcised?”
Now what did his God do, the Lord caused water to come out from an underground basin. He cracked the rock so that the underground water could seep out.
You know some interesting things come out of this story.
One is God is able to destroy any barrier between you and your outpouring.
Secondly, when you ask God for something He can cause that which you need to overflow in abundance. I mean, this guy just needed a few gulps of water, but instead he God a whole aquifer a whole underground lake of water opened up to him.
Meaning you can ask God for 1000 dollars and get 1 million. You can ask Him for a house and get a whole estate. You can ask him for a child and get triplets. You can ask Him for one gift and get nine gifts.
19 And God split open the hollow place that was at Lehi, and water came out of it. And when he drank, his spirit returned and he revived. Therefore the name of it was called En-hakkore [the spring of him who prayed]…
Anyone who can pray is entitled to this kind of spring too. I want to entreat you to pray like Samson did this morning and the same God will give you your own spring too.
1. Father give me my own En-hakkore too in Jesus name.
2. Oh Lord break up the rocks for my spring to come forth in Jesus name.
