The Battle of Armageddon

Revelation 19: 17-21

This is the final battle of human history. The end has come. The day of Jehovah has arrived.

Vs. 17-18 The supper call of the Great God.

This call to supper is different from the “Marriage Supper of the Lamb” where those who believe on Jesus are called to supper.

Who is called to this supper? The ungodly Mickey Mouse club fowl of the air.

You could say that the ungodly and evil are called to this supper but they will not be the ones who get to eat.

I like to watch “Discovery channel” “Nation Geographic” And to watch a group of vultures consume a carcass is not a pretty sight. Imagine every bird left in the world soaring over the battle ground, some sitting in the trees watching and waiting for the bodies to fall. Waiting for their turn to eat.

Will this really happen?

Scripture proof:

Ezk. 39: 1-8 "And you, son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, ’Thus says the Lord GOD: "Behold, I am against you, O Gog, the prince of Rosh, [fn] Meshech, and Tubal;

and I will turn you around and lead you on, bringing you up from the far north, and bring you against the mountains of Israel.

Then I will knock the bow out of your left hand, and cause the arrows to fall out of your right hand.

You shall fall upon the mountains of Israel, you and all your troops and the peoples who are with you; I will give you to birds of prey of every sort and to the beasts of the field to be devoured.

You shall fall on the open field; for I have spoken," says the Lord GOD.

And I will send fire on Magog and on those who live in security in the coastlands. Then they shall know that I am the LORD.

So I will make My holy name known in the midst of My people Israel, and I will not let them profane My holy name anymore. Then the nations shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.

Surely it is coming, and it shall be done," says the Lord GOD. "This is the day of which I have spoken.

Ezk 39: 17-20"And as for you, son of man, thus says the Lord GOD, ’Speak to every sort of bird and to every beast of the field: "Assemble yourselves and come; Gather together from all sides to My sacrificial meal Which I am sacrificing for you, A great sacrificial meal on the mountains of Israel, That you may eat flesh and drink blood.

You shall eat the flesh of the mighty, Drink the blood of the princes of the earth, Of rams and lambs, Of goats and bulls, All of them fatlings of Bashan.

You shall eat fat till you are full, And drink blood till you are drunk, At My sacrificial meal Which I am sacrificing for you.

You shall be filled at My table With horses and riders, With mighty men And with all the men of war," says the Lord GOD.

V. 19 The armies of the world gather in one place.

List some of the people who are to be there. The antichrist, Kings or leaders of the earth, the armies of the nations will be there. The kings or leaders may be busy trying keep the battle focused on the object of attack, which is Jesus and not each other.

Why has every army of the world gathered in one place? Verse 19 says that they have come to make war against the One on the white horse.

How did they all get there?

Rev 16:12 Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, so that the way of the kings from the east might be prepared.

Why?

Joel 3:9-16 “Proclaim this among the nations: "Prepare for war! Wake up the mighty men, Let all the men of war draw near, Let them come up.

Beat your plowshares into swords And your pruning hooks into spears; Let the weak say, ’I [am] strong.’ "

Assemble and come, all you nations, And gather together all around. Cause Your mighty ones to go down there, O LORD.

Let the nations be wakened, and come up to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; For there I will sit to judge all the surrounding nations.

Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, go down; For the winepress is full, The vats overflow-- For their wickedness [is] great."

Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the LORD [is] near in the valley of decision.

The sun and moon will grow dark, And the stars will diminish their brightness.
