What is the Gift of God?

Remember when we were first saved, everything was changed, I mean that everything looked different, fuller, more complete. It was like you saw everything for the first time. Your attitude was different, you wanted to do things for others, you wanted to tell someone about your being saved, you wanted to share Jesus with anyone who would listen! You had received something that the world didn’t have and you wanted to tell all about the Love of God, your savior, your Lord, your God!

Many Christians talk about the way it used to be:

I’ve heard many of you talk about how it used to be, that how people used to get up a shouting and praising the Lord, running the aisles, running the top of the benches, not just one or two people, but several at the same time. You’d talk about Brothers and Sisters pulling up in the parking lot already shouting, and getting out and still a shouting as they walk up the steps into the Church house, coming through the doors a shouting and praising God!

What has happened? God is still God!

Who changed? Heb. 13:8, "Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, and today, and forever."

How is it now?

More Social than Spiritual, More Compromise instead of Conviction: We have established a social time of gathering instead of a time to grow in grace and of the knowledge of the truth. We have come to a place of accepting Sin as something that isn’t as bad as it used to be.

We have come to a place of Complacency instead of Expectancy: We are happy just like we are,we don’t want to get any closer to God,we don’t want to be used by the holy spirit,we don’t want to help others,we don’t want the power of God upon us,we want to sit back and let someone else do it for us. We must remember the parable of the talents,God does require of us an increase,God does require of us fruitfulness, God does require of us souls to be won to Jesus! There is no time for you and I to sit back on the bench of ease, people are dying every day, and going to a devil’s hell, and here we sit without any care or concern! God said in Ezek.33:7,"So thou,son of man,I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me." God’s word applies to us today as His people, we are accountable for their blood if we do not warn them as he said! There blood, He’ll require at our hands. God help us!! We must be up and about our Father’s business. God is still God, we have access to all that heaven has to offer,

Rom.8:28,"..we know that all things work together for good to them that Love God, to them who are called according to His purpose." Jn. 15:2,"..and every branch that beareth fruit, He purdgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit." God said He would do what we couldn’t. "And if God be for us, who can be against us?" Rom.8:31.

We spend more time on the degrees of sin. We exalt the degree of Sin,its not the greatness of one sin verses the other. Folks, Sin is Sin. You can’t straddle the fence, Sin is Sin. Sin: is to be separated from the Righteousness of God, and Sin has a payday. Rom.6:23,

"For the wages of sin is death..." Rom. 14:23b,"for whatsoever is not of faith is sin." God is still God, and if we are saved, we are the children of God.

Let us stir up the gift of God that is within us!
