Summary: Study in the life of Daniel
Fear dominates us with a need for security Media sells fear
Fear learned early - eyeballs freeze that way - poke your eye out with a stick
Dreams and hopes are dissolved by fear - (experiment here?)
Why Worry? 59 Million suffer heart disease, 53 million migraines, 25 million osteoporosis, 16 million obesity, 3 million cancer, 12 million severe disorders like brain disorders, liver malfunction = 543 million seriously ill people out of 275 million - That’s pretty bad!
FOR SAFETY’S SAKE.. Do NOT ride in automobiles: they cause 20% of all fatal accidents.
Do NOT stay home: 17% of all accidents do occur in the home.
Do NOT walk on the streets or sidewalks: 14% of all accidents happen to pedestrians.
Do NOT travel by air, rail, or water: 16% of all accidents happen on these.
Only .001% of all deaths occur in worship services in church, and these are related to previous physical disorders. The safest place for you to be at any time is church. Go to church! IT COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE!
Faith must learn a deep rest - trust in God’s silence
What He has promised He will do
Trusting God in the dark Dan. 6:1-23
Daniel is over 80 challenges never end. Always room to grow - long as your breathing.
Don’t need instructions on How to Pray when you’re in the middle of battle
Ever make enemies at work by doing a good job - do a good job anyway
Why change prayer life now, it has worked for 80 years.
But just for 30 days - God would understand - ever lapse in devotion to God for "just a while?"
Daniel could have prayed secretly, silently but he had integrity
Daniel’s provider was not Darius - it was God.
Darius trusted Daniel’s God "whom he served continually"
Self doubt as he enters the den - am I out to lunch - or am I lunch?
Like John the Baptist - are you the one?
The obedient child of God is untouchable until God takes him/her
If you can’t get out of it - get into it
Sooner or later - everyone logs some time in the cave - Elijah, David, Jesus
To deal with worry - you have to deal with your security - who do you trust to take care of you?
To live a life of integrity - you have to face consequences - demonstrate trust NO COMPROMISE
Phil. 4:6-7 rejoice - do not be anxious. God takes good care of us when we trust Him, it may not work out as we hoped, but it works out for the best
God gives the best to those who leave the choice with Him
