John 8:31-47

1. You Will Learn The Truth (32a)

- 31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you remain in My Word, then you

are truly my disciples. 32a You shall know the truth…(John 8:31-32a)

- Those who are disciples of Jesus will want to remain in God’s Word (31)

- The Word of God teaches us The Truth

- So we can identify a lie or deception

- Those who are disciples of Jesus will want to practice doing what God’s Word teaches

2. You Will Walk In Freedom

- 32b…And the truth shall set you free.” (John 8:32b)

- The Word of God will help us walk in spiritual freedom

- Jesus said when we commit sin (34)...We become a slave of sin

- The Word of God is able to show us what sin is

- The Word of God can even reveal the way out of sin (35)

- The Word of God keeps pointing us to Jesus (36)

- When Jesus sets us free...We will be free indeed

3. You Will Do What God Desires

- We all need to make a place for The Word of God in our lives (37b)

- We can love Jesus with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength (42-43)

- We can avoid doing the devil’s desires (44a)

# Including the desire to hate and murder (44b)

# The desire to stand for lies and deception (44c)

# The desire to live in unbelief (45-46)

# The desire to silence The Word of God (47)
